Building 1995 Quigley right now, once you figure out where to get all the parts for them like the sweet shower, enclosures, and components like that just sit right in there. It could be a lot of fun, I realize Town I live in live in there is a huge amount of vans and there is a huge amount of super duties that are rusted out and the kept the drivetrain and chassis for them.

@@camposvazquez yeah that would be awesome! I'm looking forward to doing the 4x4 conversion on my 2000 extended body cargo 7.3 turbo diesel sometime next year. The 4x4 will allow me to go pretty much anywhere I want year round wether wise and not fear getting stuck especially when I do solo multiple day trips. Planning on 8-10 inch lift on 37" Toyo MT's, should be a fun project to tackle.

The lifted vans are so fun! Plenty of space and they get down the trails pretty well. Just picked up a 2000 E350 extended body 7.3 turbo diesel I will be converting to 4x4 on some 37’s next year

Right on, yeah the GMC/Chevy vans are really nice as well, and they are still making them i think, so you can get a newer model year as a used one. Check out our lone pine camping trip or the Cerro Gordo one to see Brad's beautiful Chevy van he built out its really nice!

I'm going to be possibly buying a 2007 6.0 with 165,000 for work. It looks very well taken care of and is stock. I may put a leveling kit on it and whees and tires and hopefully drive it awhile before any major engine upgrades.

We bought this with around 220k miles, we are the 3rd owners, previous owner just rebuilt the turbo (all stock parts to keep it reliable) and he replaced the EGR with the "bullet proof diesel" EGR (it was a California van for past two owners, we would have just deleted the EGR but runs like a champ, pulls great, and we've already put around 6k miles on it with weekly off-road miles. I know a lot of people run that "Ford Parts One" leveling kit and are able to go with more aggressive tires than stock and its pretty inexpensive. This lift is the "Performance Suspension Kit" from Action Vans Suspension over in San Clemente, Ca. and for the $2089 price i'm blown away at how well it handles on and off-road. We are gonna be installing the same kit on our other van a 2013 extended body 5.4 gasser, that is my daily driver. I'm gonna DIY the kit and i will film it to try to give others a perspective of the kit components and tools needed etc

@@dustinjohnson7002 I've been thinking about that a lot already, our last van we sold about a year and a half back was a 2002 ford standard length chateau model with the 7.3 diesel, programed (it hauled ass) 2 wheel drive with fancy rims and aluminess roof rack tuff stuff Alpha roof top tent, i loved it but at the time i was stuck on the idea of 4x4 conversion and didn't want to sink the money into the shorter body, we bought the gasser low miles clean body and extended so more room for bed build inside etc, but the gasser motor in stock trim is not blowing me away so far, the 6.0 diesel was a great price for the build and condition....... if we fall in love with the 6.0 diesel power (already am, and most everything we have owned over the years has been diesel motorhome, trucks, vans, etc), and in love with the gasser extended body i would consider a body swap to run a 2013 body on the 2006 diesel 6.0 chassis...... So yeah haven't reached that fork in the road yet, but plan to lift the gasser, build it out, run both and if my boys want to keep both let them drive one i drive the other or make one a dedicated camper the other just the fancy daily driver, or sell one off if one makes more sense? Long story longer the ideal plan is to grab a 4x4 jeep Cherokee XJ to tow behind a van, park the van off-road remote, set up base camp, then beat the hell out of the XJ, keep the van in cherry condition.........

The roof rack is from 4wheel parts. It’s the Smittybilt Defender roof rack with the gutter mounts. I gave these in a couple of my vans, not super inexpensive but least expensive on the market at around $1600 The ladder is made out of aluminum, by a company called Aluminess , maybe around $800-ish a bit pricey but really well built, and light weight …..

The lift kit on this va is from Action Van Suspensions over in San Clemente California and this is their base kit which runs $2089.00 only added parts were the Bilstein steering stabilizer $150 and rear wheel spacers $200 We are running 285/75/17 Toyo Open Country RT's Surprisingly for a pretty basic kit the off-road handling is amazing, the extra clearance is great and the on hwy ride quality is also much improved over the stock components We like the ride so much that we are planning to use the exact same Action Van suspensions kit for our other van a 2013 extended body E350 with the 5.4 gasser motor.

That roof rack is the 4wheel parts "Smittybilt Defender" roof rack part # 50125HD If you look at my other videos i have a couple installing the same exact rack on our other 2013 extended body 5.4 gasser van. They are both the largest rack of that brand it hangs a little over on the blue van so gets some wind noise however it can be shortened to avoid that, and with the extended body the entire rack is shorter than the van so very little wind noise. I will be doing a quick final run down video of the rack installed and comparison with a basic tip to cut the noise out on any rack this weekend...

We picked this beautiful camping Van up at the right time from the right couple who took very good care of her for a price closer to 10 than 20 ....... I couldn't come close to building this van for what we purchased her for..... If you are shopping for a van, keep it in mind that a lot of people are scared of the ford 6.0 turbo diesel motors due to the issues you see with the same years span Ford excursions and Ford F series trucks, those had different components and they tried to beef up the horse powerto compete with the other manufactures leading to unfortunate failures. If you keep a E-series ford 6.0 turbo diesel motor stock engine wise they will give you 100's of thousands of miles in return

They are a lot of fun to drive, and the main thing for my boys and i is to get to several off-road locations to set up a base camp and be able to explore some rougher trails to some extent without upgrading to 4x4 etc.This is a one ton van E350 so the original running gear is plenty strong for the lift and off-road use. The lift on this one is aprox 5 inch, "Action Van Suspensions"is the company that offers this set up and its a pretty basic lift very similar to what people have used to lift pick up trucks for years. Vans are super practical for what i need and lifted vans just makes it that much cooler and useful.....

I believe 2013 was the last year of production on the Econoline vans. You could still get cut-aways which would be a Van front end on a standard or dually frame set up with no actual body that are used for Uhaul, and other commercial type applications as “box vans” or “moving vans”. Now they only make the Ford Transit body style, which is a great Van just not based on a truck frame like the Econolines were.
