Ford Escape - ABS BRAKES FUSE LOCATION (2008 - 2012)

ABS Light on and Anti-lock braking system not working on your Ford Escape? Make sure to check all the ABS Fuses before you decide to start spending money and replacing parts such as ABS Sensors, ABS wiring and Wheel Hub Assemblies. ( 2008 | 2009 | 2010 | 2011 | 2012 | XL | XLT | LIMITED | HYBRID ).
All ABS Brakes Fuses are located under the front hood, in a small fuse box:
FUSE #9 Main ABS Brakes Fuse (50A)
FUSE #18 ABS Solenoid (20A)
FUSE #25 ABS Brakes (5A)

This as a useful video. I think, unlike a number of these You Tube videos, it is reliable and accurate. It would be helpful to know what lights on the dash were on, and what proprietary ABS codes that were set when dash lights appeared.

Hi there. I have a 2010 Ford Escape XLT and my mechanic can't figure out why there is air in the brakes lines. He bled them two different times but air keeps coming back. No leaks anywhere, is there a usual problem with these vehicles on brake pedals going to the floor. Thank you for your time.

Hello, sorry to hear you are having problems with your Escape. I don't think it would be a common problem at least from my experience. Something is going on somewhere that is causing it. Could be a problem with the master cylinder or one of the calipers but you will need an experienced mechanic to diagnose

Is there a way that you can make a video, showing the noise a normal abs module makes, because my 2011 escape hybrid is making a squeaking sound and I do have the abs light on and the brakes going all the way down

You would normally hear abs engaging when you brake sharply or in any event where one of the wheels stops turning (example sliding on ice), not while driving in normal conditions. If your ABS light is on then most likely one of the abs sensors failed. Brakes being soft and going all the way down could mean air in the brake system or even a brake fluid leak. Make sure to check the brake fluid levels. You would definitely have to scan the abs module for codes which will point you towards the problem and then inspect complete braking system.

Removing main fuse should do it but I wouldn't recommend doing it. It will affect traction control system and there is higher tendency brakes will lock up and it will affect the safety while driving. ABS problems are usually easy to diagnose and fix as probably you are dealing with failed abs sensor or corroded wiring towards one of the sensors

Hello I’m having issues with my 2008 Ford escape hybrid. Having to replace the ABS module. My ABS and REGEN BRAKES lights are on. I need help finding the part for cheaper than 5000 dollars that I don’t have. PLEASE HELP.

Your best bet is calling car salvages all around and you should be able to find it. Escape Hybrid is quite rare so it might take some time, but definitely worth it. They all ship North America wide. There is couple of websites also that search multiple car salvages inventory

Mine didn't have the little 5 amp fuse and it correlates to fuse diagram online. 2008 Mariner. Does removing these fuses make the regular brake light appear?

Hi, yes it could trigger abs light, traction light and / or brake light on the cluster

Can you remove any or all of these fuses just to bypass the ABS?

I wouldn't recommend that as it will cause other systems to malfunction such as traction control
