Hi, the abs and traction light turns on and off after a few minutes of driving, abs and bearing has been replaced along with disc brakes and pads. Wiring and everything seems okay and also the brake pedal does judder sometimes when braking…

Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. Any recent rainfall while you were driving. The ever so slightest trace of moisture inside hub and sensor can set off your system. As the moisture evaporates or dries, ABS will return to normal opps and no longer illuminate any lights on instrument cluster.

What do you suspect if the ABS light never came on, and fuses are fine, but your brakes still locked up causing your car to skid into another car?
@DIYwithMichaelBorders Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, a few things come to mind. It’s possible that you have too much brake fluid inside your brake reservoir that’s installed flush with the brake booster. If fluid level looks good, it’s possible that you have a caliper in it’s early stages of failure and the internal piston is sticking…leading to your brakes locking. After a drive, try to pinpoint which front wheel is giving off heat or a burning odor. If hot, do not touch it…that will be your indication that side caliper is causing the issue. Let’s start there, looking forward to hearing back from you. 👍🧰

Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. That’s no fun. Let’s get this figured out. Below is a link to our video discussing the most common causes. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a53KfpuBjqyoqtE Also, believe it or not, it may be as simple as adding air to your tires and bringing all tire pressure up to the manufacturers recommended Max which you can find on the sidewall of your tire. Thanks for watching, we are here to help! It may be as simple as disconnecting the black negative cable from your battery and leaving disconnected for a minimum of five minutes. This will allow your system to reset and hopefully clear any and all fault codes. Keep us posted and hey if you’re into crypto trading, check out our newly launched DIY ecosystem. Hi My 2007 RX 350 brake padel sink down, the master cylinder was changed two times still same issue, Can I remove ABS fuses to see if it works with out it? Thanks
@DIYwithMichaelBorders2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching & it’s very possible that the fuse itself is corroded. A simple cleaning may solve issue. Also, we recommend verifying all 4 of your tires are inflated to the proper manufactures recommended psi. Low tire pressure can trigger ABS light to come on as well. 😎👍

Hi buddy my abs light stays on my ford focus SE mk1. but my brakes all work plus when I go over bumps the abs light goes off and handbrake light in the dash stays on to but when I go over bumps it goes off to. What do you think the problem might be? Thanks
@DIYwithMichaelBorders4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Sounds like you have something within your ABS system loose...ultimately causing a short of some sort. We recommend inspecting any & All ABS fuses to ensure that they are properly pressed in place and fully secured. In addition, we recommend inspecting your ABS control module to ensure it is properly secured to your vehicle & not loosely shifting around as you drive... this is extremely uncommon however it can definitely happen. In the event that you have an OBD scanner, we recommend hooking it up to your vehicle so it can read your ABS error codes and check engine codes. This will allow us to pinpoint any fault within your system and help lead us to the proper path of getting your system back to normal. Keep us posted. Us fellow DIY’ers need to stick together! 😎👍🔧🔩

@@DIYwithMichaelBorders thanks for quick reply buddy I had this problem last year and I did get it scanned and got a code saying its abs pump module so I brought one and have it at home. But I didn't need to use it as I blasted my brakes and brake sensor with jet washer and the next day the light went off and passed mot but now it come back but like I said I go over bumps it goes off and handbrake light stays on and goes off but works the light mainly comes in the winter ?

Hey! My ABS doesn’t turn on until I go a certain speed , otherwise when it’s not on, my breaks / gas pedal grinds and my tires try to lock up? It’s not my breaks,
@DIYwithMichaelBorders4 жыл бұрын
Ashley101 Ashley101 Thanks for watching. Locking up brakes are caused by 1 of 3 things. 1. Too much fluid in your brake reservoir. Verify that your brake fluid inside your brake reservoir is within its proper fill parameters. 2. Seized Caliper: The internal piston inside your caliper seizes and locks brakes in place. Replacing your caliper may solve your problem. 3. Fail brake line: This is the more unlikely cause however we cannot rule it out. Brake lines fail from the inside out which means you’ll never see any deterioration. Replacing brake line may solve issue. Keep us posted. @@DIYwithMichaelBorders I was driving my car and i used the big lights to do a sign to the car infront of me. suddenly abs light flashed, car reduced speed and engine light since then is on. I tried again, used the big lights and it happened again, abs flashed car reduced speed. Now it works fine but engine light is still on. How is possible the car lights to be connected with the abs? Will the engine diagnostic tool show what exact is the problem? Thank you very much, and nice video btw!!
