Ford Escape - TOP ENGINE / MOTOR MOUNT REPLACEMENT (2008-2012)

Video on how to replace / change top right passenger side motor mount on Ford Escape. Is your Escape's engine vibrating while idling or while driving at highway speeds? Engine mount might be your problem. ( 2008 | 2009 | 2010 | 2011 | 2012 | XL | XLT | LIMITED | HYBRID ).
Replacing the top motor mount is easy. There is literally couple of screws and nuts to remove. Before you start, it is a good idea to support the engine from the bottom. There are four 15mm nuts to remove at the top, then one 18m screw at the top and then three 13mm screws at the bottom and the side. All the screws and nuts are very easily accessible. Don't use a torque wrench as a breaker bar. You will ruin the calibration.

Great video !! Clear instructions !!! When should we chande the motor mounts ? Another question, how to fix OBD code P0010 ?

Thanks. You should change the motor mounts if they get worn out. You will mostly feel engine vibrations at idle and shaking when accelerating. P0010 points towards camshaft, could be as simple as oil change necessary due to contaminated oil and sludge, bad sensor or something more complicated. Needs to be diagnosed properly

What are the torque specs. On the bolts to frame and engine block, would I need a floor jack to hold up engine??

Thanks. I've slightly supported the engine under the oil pan and I've placed 2x4 on top of the jack. But you don't want to really lift it there, just slightly support

I don´t know if it´s related, but after I changed my top motor mount my car won´t start, no crank. Do you know anything about that? The battery is good.

hmmmm...did you make sure to connect the ground wire back after you installed the motor mount? No ground / bad ground could definitely cause this symptoms

Incorrect didnt jack engine dint give torque specs and used a torque wrench as a breaker bar. Utube mechanic for sure bet that car isnt running any ore

@@QuiteAlright Oh, I see. Mine has the big top-mount air filter box. I did find that passenger motor mount as you describe. However, I notice my engine vibration disappears after driving for a while. There is, however, a 'clank' on gear engagement if I cycle through the gears from P-D-N-R and then R-N-D. Also, low thrummy vibration at 100 km/h. Is this a motor mount or drive shaft issue?

'clank' while shifting gear is usually a bad mount, other symptom would be vibration while engine is idling. Vibration at highef speeds could be the drive shaft, but it could also be tires which are not properly balanced
