Ford Escort MK2 RS2000 Custom

This is a low owner, low mileage Rs2000 that has been refreshed paying particular attention to keeping every last bolt correct as possible. It has original panels apart from the front wings that were replaced because underwing clean up was easier and I had NOS wings. The only welding it had was the new front wing fitment.
Fitted with the RS options of Group 1 weber 44 idf carburettors , airbox and very rare Group 1 exhaust Manifold. 4 spoke RS steering wheel and 7 inch RS Ronal wheels. The original parts removed have been retained.
Front chocolate fishnet recaros were retrimmed in original beta cloth the rear is original untouched.
The real deal not a welded up one.

@@BLACKRSMARKTWO For all the petrolheads, just out of interest, a few months ago, I made a list of all the cars I have owned. Total came to 21 in the end. Many of these have just been 4 wheeled transport, some were quite interesting, some not so entertaining. I think one of the worst was a 'hand me down, down, down' company Cavalier 2000, heap of .... But amongst all of these there are a couple which really stand out. Probably my first car, Fiat 124 special, bit grotty, but brilliant engine. And later on in life ( Not in Europe !! ) a Chevrolet Blazer, about 1960 vintage, only 3 speed auto box, but big and chunky. And when family arrived, we had a Golf Gti ( 16v aniversary model ). But my most memorable car was a black RS2000, so I was very pleasantly surprised to see the old registration plate on a YT video. And yes, it was my old car. Mr NW, CheeRS from me, I am pleased you still have the old RS, it looks brilliant condition. Last photo from you had your small one, looking into the windows !

Nice had a Black one myself. Is this a Group 1 spec which could be specced when ordering new from dealership. From memory twin 44 downdraft Webbers, air filter like yours and that steering wheel. Power went upto about 130bhp. Might be some other cylinder head tweaks as well. Its been years though so might be wrong.

2 piece propshaft is standard original equipment . 4 spoke ford motorsport steering wheel as available from ford parts catalogue back in 1980.

i had one in the 70´s but a rally car not for the road ,all white with a escort 2000 like that and old sport seats also in blue ,indigo maybe, i had a capri with this headrests, 80´s one

Mind a fella a good bit older than me buying a really nice one also in black, it was back around 82-ish as back then I was bonkers mental with BMX and he'd drive by on his way home near a little area me and my mates would practice tricks, turned out he was a drug dealer and had opened various bank accounts in about 6 coppers names, they all got suspended but for back then it was extremely clever, I still remember all the story being all over our local paper and a few of my mates bigger brothers knew him pretty well. I used to see him sitting at a few spots and there would be Q of people standing at his car, he also had a really nice Capri, I never understood why the people all stood in line at his car but then again I was more interested back then at doing my first 360 on my BMX
