Ford Expedition Fuel Pump Replacement!!

Thanks for the video. It really helped to watch you show how the connectors come undone. Kills me that they are all different. I will say, for those doing this in the future, I used a new motorcraft pump and o-ring, but couldn't get the lock ring to go back on with the new o-ring. The old one was just a touch thinner from being compressed for years and I was able to get the lock ring back on with the original which was in great shape anyways.

Good job. Not often I see good videos specifically for the newer Expeditions. I actually just had my fuel pump, and fuel pump driver module replaced. Would’ve done it myself, but I was out of town on a work trip. Didn’t have the time, facilities, or tools. Looking at this process I would have to also add “patience” to that list as well.

I have a few questions and I'm hoping you can help me with this. I changed the fuel pump earlier in the year, but I kept having the same problems. I replaced it with a Delphi fuel pump. It kept revving up and driving really slow randomly, which is the same thing it was doing before. We kept driving it this way because we didn't have enough money to fix again. It doesn't want to turn on anymore. Should I have replaced the pump with an expensive Motorcraft pump? Is there something else I should look at? Why didn't you buy a Motorcraft PFS-552?

Expense. There is another fuel pump up on the motor that might be your problem. But if u replaced this part and you are having the same exact problems then this fuel pump probably wasn’t your issue

From what I’ve seen online it is built into the fuel pump. I looked all over when I was changing this pump and did not see any in-line filters

I replaced my fuel pump in a 08 Ford experdition but the gas gauge inside the truck doesn't work showing the gas amount, what do I need to do.

You need to be sure the float arm on the pump is still connected. I replaced one once and the float got knocked off into the tank.

@@hayseedautos Do you know where the high pressure fuel sensor is located on a 2017 Ford Expedition EL Limited 4x4? I cannot locate it I see 4 sensors on the Fuel rail on the motor but not the part that is supposed to be the high pressure sensor

Not sure. It might be on the actual high pressure pump which is somewhere on top of the engine

Actually I’m pretty sure it is on the high pressure fuel pump which is on the driver side of the engine. But it might be a little different on a 2017 it looks like they might have made some sort of change it that area after 2016
