Thank you for the review. I noticed the camera work looked as if you may have had help, and it worked better. In my family we would want this to tow and with 4WD for mild off road - eg towing out of a muddy field. Ford have done the best they can with VW’s MEB platform but the bits of VW UI/UX let things down. It would have to be a lot cheaper than any future Land Rover Discovery EV to cause us to switch. In Ford’s favour is a good dealer network here in the UK with one within ten miles of us.

Thanks Paul. Just me on the camera. When I have the car in Ireland I've some extra time for shooting. Thanks for noticing. AWD and towing is available up to 1200kg but with it's weight, a muddy field may be it's downfall

I have taken delivery of the RWD long range battery this week, sadly the suggested range is absolutely impossible to achieve, I opted for the heat pump and 21" wheels. I knew the range would be impacted but thought the heat pump would off set the drag of the wheels. It doesn't! the real range is 180 miles at best! Shocking! For my usage it virtually renders the car useless. Its a shame as the car looks great, great spec & and loads of gadgets but as a functional mode of transport it falls way way short. Before you buy just think about a range of 180 miles and how that will affect your ownership, for some that might work but for a primary vehicle I will have to admit to buying the wrong car. Shame.

Thanks for the comment Daniel. It sounds like the sales staff didn't qualify you and your driving needs which is a real shame. Sounds like lots of motorway miles which is not the ideal EV environment

I hate the touch buttons on the wheel I hit them on my test drive when turning too easily , so I wonder if the new physical button id4 wheel will work since they seem to have the same functionality on them , it may just need a firmware upgrade

I'm a Motability customer and currently have the Vauxhall Grandland in the M-Hybrid model on a 24 plate. I have been looking at making the change to a all electric car when i am able to in 2027 and really like the design of the Ford Explorer. Both the darker blue and the red colours look sleek with the design of the car but my only concern is having the range to do journeys. ive read stories of having range anxiety and i feel i would have this. Is there anything that could be said to persuade me to make the convert to all electric?

No one in any video I saw on you tube mentions that the rear brakes are not discs but drums on all models, which is very crucial for a 340ps car!!!! No one mentions that the car's operating system does not have autonomous internet but only works with android auto which is a lunch of my mobile, therefore if you want to listen to a radio station online every time you receive a call then you will have a data interruption! Therefore this is also a big problem. For someone who has high expectations from a car and pays for it, this car is unsuitable. Look better for a volvo.
