You can do similar mods to achieve the same power for around $3k. Also, ZFG tuning rocks these, he has the most power as well as the best transmission tune hands down. No issues with the 10speed with his tune for many people running it. Just listening to the sloppy shifts in this video shows how much better the ZFG trans tune is. Livernois has awesome engine tunes, but ZFG has the best transmission tunes.

@@atctraveler6218 None. I just finished installing the AFE cold air. Then the Steeda Intercooler. The Thermal R&D 3" exhaust. And the Steeda Diff brace. Next step is the ZFG tune. I really like the way the ST drives now with what I got all installed. I know it will turn into a different beast once I do the tune. Next couple months I'll get it.

I get my THERMAL R&D 3" CAT-BACK EXHAUST SYSTEM WITH MID PIPES - COATED TIPS tomorrow and I just got my AFE MOMENTUM GT COLD AIR INTAKE SYSTEM W/ PRO 5R MEDIA. Was trying to figure out who to go with for the tune but ZFG keeps popping up as the best. Going to add all the items in over the next week. I need to get the Steeda Intercooler and Diff brace to make it more complete. Looking forward to the new added power these parts will bring. 👍👍

Thanks for the show! Have a 2020 ST and with the tune alone, ran a 4.2 0-60 with over 300 lbs of equipment in the cargo area. Without the equipment, it would probably break into the 3's. Getting a CVF intercooler installed in 3 days. Ethanol is free power after the tune but it's too hard to find in my area and if I do, the pump is rated 51-83%. Hard to nail down the percentage you want when the pump doesn't even know. If I go any further, I may just do a turbo upgrade and call it a day. I'm not a tracker but that should well be enough fun. :)

I have a 2020 Explorer ST running a Livernois Stage 4, 93 Octane Tune, Dyno'd @455HP and 552TQ. I don't know why the masses on this thread thinks ZFG has a better tune, when it's only getting 412HP and 491TQ. Go figure!. I've been running my Livernois tune for almost 4yrs with absolutely ZERO issues! Also have Steeda lowering springs and rear adjustable sway bar. Custom installed stainless steel Cat-Back exhaust system, and 24" 3-piece Forgiato wheels. She's quite the looker and performer!

I have a 2017 Platinum TT with stage 1 Livernois. $600 tuner and runs low 5s to 60. Plenty of power and fun. Not sure I need to do much more. Basically the stage 1 gets me to the newer stock ST power level.

The 2014 was a beast as well except one problem. Tune it and even if you didn't the timing chains would stretch and the tensioners couldn't keep the chain taught anymore. The code we all know pops up and it's rebuild the engine. This gen seems to know people are going to tune it and was proactive. How long will the motor survive like this we have yet to see. Explorer Sport and the new ST has always been fun to drive and I hope Ford takes cares of its fans this time around.

Mine had what they call sticky gears, if I hammered it around 40-45 mph it would grind the gears. It was just a software issue but it took two dealers to fix it. Now it’s a blast to drive. That and the backup camera would go blue they fixed that also. Love the vehicle now. One more item with the early ones. They used a thin pipped trans cooler that can crack and Leak out the fluid ruining the trans. They seem to be upgrading these no charge as a recall. I bought my car six months ago used as a gold certified and it was already taken care of. Make sure has been done or get it done right away.

Nice build, I’ve been building one for my wife. So far upr catch can, Cvf intercooler, thermal 3 in cat back. Cvf downpipes are going on next week, and I’m on the list waiting for SB to send me my intake. I looked at a lot of different tunes, and yeah ZFG is probably the best, but seeing as it’s for my wife I felt going with Jdm Engineering for the tune was the best route. Gonna add the tune once the downpipes are installed, should be putting down around 430-440 whp on 91.

I'll attest to JDM Engineering's Tune... My 2001 ST is tuned by JDM, which is the only mod I've done thus far. Best 0-60 run is currently 4.1 seconds. Best 1/4 run is currently 12.5 @ 106 mph. My second planned mod will be an Intercooler, to hopefully improve the top-end.

@@Louthemailmanwell I mean, for one, my truck is factory everything except for a tune. So $600 to make it do that. Which is pretty damn good. Obviously a supercharged V8 has a lot more potential but you’ll have to pay big bucks to get there. $10k for the blower kit, and then comes install… that’ll put the truck at a little less than 100hp more than a tuned ecoboost. But it can be turned up with supporting mods like oil pump but with that power you’ll really need to upgrade the suspension and brakes. Throw $50k at it and you can get the truck into the 8s. It’s not really comparable.

All in for my full build I have a 12 second flat quarter mile 4700LB SUV for 52k including what I paid for the Explorer and what I paid for mods. Fully loaded it's an excellent daily and hurts a LOT of feelings. Only ones who talk shit haven't witnessed it irl. At least I don't have to worry about theft with this over a Mopar nor do spend 75k plus for a Trackhawk. 450 to the wheel on 93 and 520 to the wheel on e50 mix.

@@MaxHPower bought it for the wife as I still loved my 2017 Rapotor with the 3.5 Twin Turbo motor with a tune and exhaust......but after driving the Fusion out of town a few times......I now drive that more lol.....actually had an F150 stay right next to me the other day.....he must of tuned her up or something

@@Turbo4Joe363 Love that everyone usually thinks it a 4cyl turbo as well.....lic plate says NAP TIME.....lol......only thing I ever disliked and fixed immediately was the brakes and exhaust......at 65k so far without no issues.....but almost want something to go before 100k or so I can get it fixed for free.....lol.....

97,000 on mine. 0 problems. Steeda CAI Velossa Ram Air 93 tune Steeda strut tower brace. Steeda rear sway bar Slotted brakes w/ good pads. 245 Conti Extremes That's it. Left the exhaust OEM quiet. Have you drained and replaced the PTU's gear oil yet? Did mine at 50K about to do it again.
