The 0-60 between MDX type S and the other MDX variants is 1 sec difference. Is that precision crafted performance? 290 HP versus 355HP, the power output sounds significant but it does not seem proportional. Plus Type S is performance when it comes to the NSX but not on the MDX.

To the GV80's benefit, it weighs 300lbs more than the MDX and it rides on 22 inch wheels vs 21 inches on the MDX. It's also tuned for a relaxed, smooth operation. So the GV80 did remarkably well in keeping up with it.

After shopping and ultimately buying a Type S, I’m glad with my decision. ST feels like a rental car, GV80 is boring and feels tacky. Aviator was nice but still felt like a Ford. X7 has mediocre trunk

So the vehicle that has lost almost all comparisons to the GV80 and Aviator is now just head and shoulders above two of the most compelling offerings in the entire segment? RIGHHTTT….just be happy with you decision of the type S, but to exaggerate with your takes on the GV80 (boring) and Aviator (like a ford) both of which are more luxurious and differentiated than a Mdx from Honda offerings is hilarious
@lockheedload11 ай бұрын
I left an x3 m40i for the mdx type s. My wife has an ST and no way I'd ever touch that problem vehicle. I test drove a black label aviator for a while. Same issues as the ST. No thanks. For every feature the mdx type s has, it's a damn good bargain. A similarly equipped X5 is like $25k more. Very happy with what Acura has brought!
@lockheedload11 ай бұрын
@@pimpindnice910there's nothing special about the aviator whatsoever. Maybe aside from the air suspension since the explorer can't get it. Other than that, it's just like my wife's ST, same problems and all.
@msrr815111 ай бұрын
@@pimpindnice910 the GV80 is boring. That’s a fact. Dynamics are quite subdued and in fact inferior to Type S. Aviator has many buttons and interior bits used on Ford. The gears, knobs and switches feel flimsy and nowhere near as nice as Type S. Only buttons on MDX that feel shared with Honda are AC controls. Other than that, it’s much nicer and luxurious vs Aviator. Sorry to burst your bubble.

@@Raptor_5.0the data is against you though. My wife's ST is garbage. I had a Mach 1 that ended up having a bad weld in the firewall, causing the suspension to flex and pop like crazy. Ford couldn't fix it, had to hire a lawyer to lemon law it. I test drove an aviator black label, same issues as the explorer. Screen doesn't work. Loud ass clunk from the crappy 10 speed.
