My 2016 Ford F150 started holding water in one of the doors and I could hear it sloshing around when I was driving. This can be resolved by cleaning out the tiny drain holes on the bottom of the door.

Mine was the driver side back door of my 2016 f150. Couldnt believe how much water came out of there! I thought I heard sloshing and then it just kinda stopped for awhile. Well I live in Minnesota and once winter was over all that water thawed out and I started hearing it again 😂

Oh wow yeah hadn’t concerned what this would mean for folks up north. We’re soft Floridians so forgot it gets cold enough to freeze water 😂 You’d be driving around with a built in ice pack for 6 months out of the year

FORD's love TLC. I have one. And I'm constantly changing out shit the manufacturer decided to install (cheap quality parts). However, with that being said...I really think F150s are nice looking trucks. IMO

The same stupid style in my 2002 Focus. How to prevent rust in those holes? I fill them with WD40 or other cheap penetrating oil.
@non-fungibleartist3836 Жыл бұрын
I noticed that the small square weep holes at the front of the front doors get clogged with dirt frequently because they are exposed behind the panel gap. This maintenance issue is not in the owner's manual! I can't say I love Ford, but, I do love my truck and I want it to last for a decade before it rusts out!
@thefiXfiles Жыл бұрын
The top minds at Ford engineered it so when it rusts it’ll make nice big holes for the water to come out 😂

Soooo why is there even a plug for the drain hole? Shouldn't it just be open to let the water run out??
@JohnnyButtercuts9 ай бұрын
This has to be a joke but regardless, why would you put the rubber cap back? It’s below the door seal so the water will just drain on it’s own you would have to leave your windows down in a bad storm but even then, your window motors have to be shot from that amount of water 😂

Compressed air worked well for me just now clearing out those holes. Bunch of crud came pouring out. Same door, same truck. Thx for the vid. Any ideas where the waters coming in from? Window seals?
@thefiXfiles Жыл бұрын
Yeah thats what I’m suspect too. I think a little water can get around the seal for the window so that’s why the drains are there. Sunroofs are similar. They don’t seal perfectly so manufacturers plan for leaks.

@MrJeeperJay Жыл бұрын
You likely have clogged sunroof drains…there are little hoses at each corner of the sunroof that will go down each pillar and drain out under the car. These get clogged from the top & can also clog at the bottom.
