The other day I was backing out of my garage. I caught the driver mirror on the corner of the RV that was backed up to my garage. Bingo, now I can't fold my 2018 Ford F-150 mirror. Time to trade anyway. Every new truck I have usually gets a boo boo, mostly a rear bumper done by a hit and run dude. I save money by trading every year. Especially the sales tax. We don't pay sales tax on the trade value. Interesting video. Eaglegards...

You are going to love them when towing. Because of the large size, you can mount a larger spot mirror. In the “in” position and in the “out” position, the spot mirror will shift from the top to the bottom.

The added mirror area will be a big upgrade. Instead of looking out at two smaller mirrors, you or your eyes can now zero in on one large one. I think when you have to do a quick glance over to a mirror for a upcoming traffic issue, you get a better view, faster. Trust me, once you start putting more miles on the pavement there will be crazy drivers doing unpredictable things behind you. Just from past experiences the one that pops out is "either a re-tread from a truck in our lane, or someone's mattress in you lane on the freeway" which requires a quick glance to your mirrors to change lanes.....

Thanks for the video. My mirror mounts are worn out and the stock mirrors are just too small. I was considering large mirrors as a tractor-trailer has but these are much easier and with no drilling.

Looks like the angle can be reversed to those mirrors to make it more co-operative with the vent glass by switching the passenger side with the driver side... rn the tops are angles away from the door, reversing them would make bottom away from the door

Yup, the l bracket spins all the way around as does the mirrors on the other end of the same l bracket

They are not made for that truck but husband just bolted them on and made them work...

There's quite a few people that like to ride with their Tow Mirrors deployed in the out position. I just wish more people would only put their tow mirrors out when they're Towing. My dad had somebody back out in front of him from a parking lot so he had to go close to the center line of the road and the Dodge Ram coming in the opposite direction had his Tow Mirrors out so that they slammed into my dad's mirror and caused it to swing Inward and break the Side Glass and ultimately cutting up my dad pretty bad to where he still actually has a scar on his face from it. And even the highway patrol that filled the accident report out indicated that if he had his mirrors and they probably want to have struck my dad's van.

EXCELLENT IDEA. HOWEVER, I BELIEVE FORD MADE AN ERROR SINCE 1987 UNTIL 1996 TO DESIGN THE SMALL WINDOW IN THE FORM OF AN ANGLE THAT DAMAGES THE OPERATOR'S VISION.

Well, Ford wasn't the only one that made that Wing window or also what they used to call a smoker's window. There was a lot of not only trucks but Cars 2 that used that design. The tow mirrors that Ford offered were much better than what I put on this truck. The mirrors that I bolt it on we're kind of a mix match. As I mentioned in the video, the door mounted frame was actually for the smaller Street mirrors but I voted the tow mirrors on to the smaller frame which caused the obstruction of view. If I was to have bought the tow mirror framework in addition to the Tome are like shown in the video, it would have mounted in a different location on the door and there would have been no obstruction in vision. What I was kind of going for on the video is just showing that you could add bigger mirrors to the smaller mounts and get away with it.

Did you have any issues with these mirrors staying adjusted when slamming the doors or going at high speeds down the road? I tried this upgrade and am having these issues. Wondering if you figured out a solution to that problem. Otherwise, love the mirrors.

@@Rvdaydream Problem solved! It’s important to get the exact mirrors in link above made by Dorman. They work much better then the similar Trucklite mirrors on Amazon which move out of adjustment when the door is slammed or by wind from driving down the road.

I know what you mean by the clip on one vibrating . I ordered my Sierra 1500 with mirrors for the 2500. I found the aftermarket to be unsafe and annoying. Your mirrors look good on your truck. If you don't like them In the in position they look very normal out.

We had a 2012 F150 and I put towing mirrors on it shortly after we got it... The very next day I was backing up and hit a telephone pole with the passenger side mirror, totally destroying it (the mirror not the telephone pole). Yep, Kevin luck... lol

@@WeretheRoberts lol, they only time I stayed in the truck Mike backed into a tree, we laughed, luckily no damage.. Between the 5th wheel and the tt, I like the tt better, but mostly because we backed it up so many times. I am getting use to the 5th wheel, though it scares the $hit out of me, hooking it up. But I honestly help less, but I do know the steps, just nerve racking, lol Mike's got it under control thankfully.. I do still put in and take out the wheel chocks (yay me 😂).. One time my dad blamed me mom when he was backing out of the garage and he smashed the mirror, mom said how's that my fault, lol, he knew...

@@Rvdaydream that’s hilarious! We’ve been fortunate since we moved to the 5th wheel but man it was a big change hooking it up after being so used to a travel trailer. Backing accidents always crack me up because it seems like whoever’s driving is always looking for someone else to blame. And usually whoever is in the car with them is at fault because they weren’t paying attention. Hahaha. All I know is that telephone pole moved when I was backing up. It wasn’t there when I started moving. And I bet the garage did too!!!! Haaaaaaaa!
