👍👍👍 I don’t know why so many people mountain air compressor in a dirty wet environment. I just don’t understand that I’m using. 4 VIAIR air compressors for my airhorns, and for my ability to air up a flat tire for me or somebody else. All of my equipment is not in the weather and it’s not in the water or the mud in the dirt. It takes me only seconds to remove one of the. 4 VIAIR air compressors if they fail for any reason or get worn out I don’t have to crawl underneath my truck to take something out that’s no longer working. I believe you prolong the life of anything if you keep it out of the dirt, the water and the heat from the freeway, if you do not mounted underneath of the truck. Keep in mind I own a 2022 Nissan frontier crew cab I have a 2.5 gallon air tank and I have. 4 VIAIR air compressors and a quarter inch manifold that route the air pressure to where I wanted to go and none of my equipment. All the electrical is in the dirt water or mud. Who wants to crawl underneath of a truck to service there? Air system not me
@xcntrk75 Жыл бұрын
Most folks with real work trucks need their entire bed for hauling and capacity. Placing tanks and pumps in the bed eats up that precious space. Interior is out of the question due to excessive noise the pumps make. With a Frontier you probably don’t have to worry about these issues and therefore have plenty of room to mount in your passenger seat.
@stickbogart3657 Жыл бұрын
Thank you much for your input. I’ve always wanted an air compressor system for my pick up truck that has rapid recovery capability. The reason I put the system together is because there’s so many people out there on the freeway. They do not pay attention to what they’re doing. Usually they’re playing with the phone while driving down the road not staying in their own lane we all know what happens when your car gets wrecked. The value is diminished dramatically number one and number two it winds up in the shop to get repaired. It’s going to be there for a long period of time so I make sure that I have the ability to give them a loud wake up call to stay where they belong and away from my truck Also, it does not take me long to have 150 psi. I have run it up to 250 psi just to pressurize the system to make sure that it’s got no leaks Sometimes I use it to help others who have a flat tire and when I opened up the toolbox to connect my hose to inflate the tire, they are impressed with what they see The airhorns are in the grill you can’t see them unless you really look for them and I have them facing towards the ground. That way if I drive my truck through a car wash no water is going up inside of the airhorns I added another airline that goes up underneath the back of my truck so if I want, I can add a second set of air horns on the rear of my truck I’m sick of the stupidity on the freeway. That’s why I built the system that I put together .

Now that this video is a couple years old, 2 questions? Is it still holding up? Considering you mounted it directly in front of the back tires. Perfect place for everything your tire throws off it, to go right into the tank/compressor? And second question.. VI- air (you know like an "i" sound. Not an "e" sound) the one thing they say is do not mount upside-down.. does the pump even still work?

Great video, nice details. The unit really isn't supported by the inserts, it's supported by the two bolts.
@xcntrk754 жыл бұрын
Hey thank for the watching! The whole unit will hang from the frame inserts without the self-tapping screws in place. I have now made 20 of these and I have tried this repeatedly. All the weight hangs down vertically from the inserts, the screws just keep the inserts from sliding out as that weight can shift from side-to-side in corners/bumps/etc.

@@xcntrk75 i believe he is referring to the bolts that attached to the 2x4 inserts - you welded the nuts in place.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong with the wiring. Followed your instructions with wiring the relay without any luck. Regarding the solenoid, 85 or 86 goes to one of the solenoid wires and other solenoid wire is grounded, correct? Thanks!
@xcntrk75 Жыл бұрын
Follow the diagram on the relay housing. Sometimes different vendors switch the pin numbers around.
@ChrisNichols-jn1zg Жыл бұрын
@@xcntrk75 yes sir. The diagram on my relay is identical to your relay in the video. When I activate upfitter 1, I hear a high pitched sound from the relay and my factory horn still sounds when pushed. Maybe the relay is bad. Two wires from the solenoid, one connected to 87 and is the second solenoid wire grounded? Thanks a lot for your time.

I don't see a regulator in your install. I have the same horn running off a 1.5 gallon tank and two Viair 444c compressors. With my air regulated down to 85 psi I can get a lot more usage from my system before the compressors have to kick on and re-energize the tank. The regulator is only on the output that feeds the horn.

Of course! This is the way the compressor kit is intended to be wired. It comes with a relay and sufficient wiring to wire the constant/load directly to the battery and the relay trigger off an IGN circuit.
