Ford Fiesta 2013 Door Actuator Latch Repair, not replacement - Door Not Shutting Fault

In this video I show you how to repair the actual Actuator that fails on the Ford Fiesta. Mine is a 2013 model but I think this covers many other models as well. You need to watch other videos on KZbin on how to remove the actuator. I just show you how to repair. The latch is a safety device and so you attempt this repair at your own risk. I would hope that Ford actually recall all of these latches at sometime because one day a child is going to be killed falling out of a car. The repair takes 10 minutes once you master it. It takes a while removing it from the car tough.

Just wanted to say thank you! Your video helped me fix same issue with my transit custom. Ford used exactly the same latch mechanism with slightly different mounting plate. Dealer repair was $1200. To this day they still get away with no mandate to recall this very dangerous & stupid design. Makes you wonder about the brand when they can’t engineer a simple lock mechanism.

Great video. My daughter's car door went last week. Easy to follow video made for an easy fix. Ford just announced today they are recalling the car now to fix the latches for free.

Thank you to your shared video. It saved me $300. My car had same problem after 5 yeras and out of warranty. I asked dealer to fix it after .They will chargd me $300 not include labor cost and tax yet. When I have time i will modify for the other 3 doors as preventive .
