Ford Fiesta Mk6 1.4 TDCI- Removing the Alternator

Mk-V Fiesta - The alternator was not producing enough voltage to charge the battery. This video shows how I removed the alternator from the engine bay for inspection and repair. (The initial diagnosis was correct, the culprit was worned out slip rings of the alternator. Slip rings replaced and alternator installed in place, and my Fiesta works properly again.)

Q buen video. Veo que cambias el regulador. No puede repararse? Aqui en Venezuela están super caros. Tengo un alternador valeo al cual se le hizo chequeo hace poco y hoy cuando se instalaba no manda corriente a la batería

Hey! Is there a manual tensioner to the belt or is it just an hydraulic? I cant find any tensioner on mye Ford Fiesta 1,4 2004 to loosen the tension of the belt to the alternator.

Is it petrol engine or diesel engine? If it is 1.4 diesel engine the v-belt tensioner is spring loaded and can be seen after removing the plastic splash cover that I removed after the wheel in the video. It is above the cranksaft pulley. Looking underneath the car you should see 14 mm bolt head, you need a long spanner (or use the method I've used wise grip and a regular spanner) and need to turn clockwise to loosen it. I've posted another video about removing and installing v-belt. It might be helpful to you..Chers..
