Ford Fiesta ST Drives on the Stunning C462 through Catalonia

Took my MX-5 this Saturday to the C-462. What an awesome road indeed!

I remember this dam being built. I felt sad when they started flooding the land. When I was young, I used to go to St Llorenç every weekend. Lovely village. The narrower road driving you up to Tuixent, aaaah blissful memories. Lots of things to do. The valley where it is it will always have a place in my heart

Bought my Fiesta ST after seeing this video dozens of times. Best bang for the buck of any car I've driven. I have been waiting to drive this road for 2+ years. Here are some thoughts. The Good: It starts out great from Solsona. The dam is a cool place to see and worth a stop to take a few photos. The lake is a lovely green. There are hundreds of turns on the C-462. The vehicles are at a minimum. The Bad: 1/3 of the way through there are no lane markers and the road gets narrow. I mean 2 cars can barely pass narrow. So as you are going through those hairpin turns you are taking some very blindly. It would be absolutely foolish and reckless to take them at high speed. Falling rocks on the inside edges make it difficult to dive into a shoulders without risk of damaging the wheel or tire. Lots of cows and deer warning signs. Cows are generally well contained by fencing. The deer are a real hazard. They leap out of nowhere. It happened more than once but luckily were a few hundred feet away. The last 1/3 started getting lots of road noise from the rocky asphalt. And the last 1/10th was full of areas with loose gravel. Maybe the road was better 3 years ago when they release this review. Proceed with caution if you go and curb your expectation of it's greatness.

A lovely road, but I'm sure that they assured that anyone was cicling on this road during the whole filmation progress. A very little traffic road that ciclists know it very well, and they just come here, and breaks the driving experience. Also, driving at legal speeds makes it a veeery boring road, keep that in mind. B y the way, you should also thy the BV-4031 from la pobla de l'illet to la molina, a desertic road, twisted and yes, full of ciclists, but a lovely road as well.

Is not that they build the dam and then they had no money to built the electric generation part. This projects do not work like that. You cannot just left a part of it undone. C'mon. The only purpose of the dam is to control the river flow. There's another dam for the same purpose just after this one but was not enough, so they built this new one upstream. It stopped the seasonal floodings we had until the 90's on the vilages downstream.
