Great little car. I once owned a TDCi and here's my opinion.... 1.Great punchy engine. That 160Nm makes you to forget about 51Kw. 2.Good fuel consumption. 3. Very affordable 4.Cheap to maintain. What I didn't like... 1.A bit noisy 2.160Nm felt too small at times 3.Turbo lag at lower revs Verdict? Awesome car. Wouldn't mind owning it again

I have the 1.2L Petrol Engine of the Ford figo of 2010 in India. It still runs like a champ though its 15 yrs old. The Green colour is too appealing. Everything in the car was perfect upto the core. Truly a drivers car indeed. In 160 kmph, It's so stable and I still have the control of my car.

@chefhemana6268 I was getting 16kmpl on 1.2l petrol duratec engine in Chennai due to sedate driving. And 20kmpl in highway. Check for fuel injectors and fuel sensors for carbon deposit. If there's a carbon deposit on injectors, get a WD-40 can spray and spray on carbon deposits. It will remove those deposits and increase mileage. It depends on driving style as a whole. If you're excited then mileage can drop to 12kmpl in city and 18kmpl in highway @4000 rpm.

This Facelift diesel has different injectors than the pre facelift. I am planning to get the diesel version soon.

I am happy with my petrol AT transmission so far at 56.000 KM, just the engine is kinda weak a little and not very fuel efficient. On the road after 100km car cabin gets noisy, that might be from my old tires as well. Overall if feel like it is a practical and easy to maintain car

I have the 2014 model. This is a mechanically sound car and very cheap to maintain. Two problems, very cheap, shiny plastic interior with noticeable gaps and rattles a lot. Another issue, NVH levels, the car is not well insulated, the engine runs rough, you hear and feel it quite a lot in city driving, in the steering wheel, pedals, and just the whole body. Where the car shines is on the highway, very stable and good steering feel. In my opinion, spend a little more and get the VW vivo. Although they are meant to be comparable, the Vivo feels like it’s in another class.

Just cambelt is expensive is important to for it to be done properly otherwise, with service history these cars are good engine wise You may experience minor suspension wear down but nothing major Also cheap brand new they were R120 000

Petrol consumption in city roads is terrible though And doesn't do well with passengers But theses figo are worth every cent also long as you do maintainance and change your water bottle too

The engines of these is a massive letdown. The rest of the car is great. Lights, brakes, maintenance costs all quite good... The petrol has poor fuel economy compared to any rival. My 3.2 V6 Audi has better fuel consumption. Both the petrol and diesel struggle with hills, 3rd and 4th gear needs to be worked hard to keep a steady 120 going and this equates to poor fuel consumption in the petrol. The petrol returns a avrage 11km per liter. A 63kw comparable polo vivo would do 14-15 km per liter. The diesel would return 14 km per liter. Could other owners agree or disagree?

Excellent comment. One thing that I personally believe that Ford missed out on, is that they had a cracking little 1.6 turbo diesel, that proved itself in the previous Fiesta, that would have been a far better engine for the Figo. That boasted a respectable 66 kw and 204 NM.

Even the 1.6 Petrol they did in the Fiesta it is based on was a powerfull unit... To my knowledge the 1.6 tdci you mention also did service in the Fiesta the Figo was based on. But I think Ford SA didn't want the Figo to steal sales from the newly launched Fiesta at that time...
