Ford Focus clutch return spring Hack

This worked a treat, many thanks! Bought a 2016 this year and the clutch issue has been a nightmare, took it to a garage and they replaced the slave cyclinder and flywheel, same issue, but the spring has been brilliant. (Was ready to trade the car in) got a 65 mm spring but had the be careful with the pipes behind that bracket I drilled into

My Ford Focus 2012 1.6Tdci do the same thing. The clutch is working perfectly because I drive the car everyday, I don't have any lose of brake fluid but the pedal is returning only half, not complet. This hack is working on the long term sir? Or is a problem caused from something else?

Just get a decent spring and it will last you a long time

Same here mate,my 63 reg 1.6 tdci is doing the same,pedal doesn’t always return all the way back up.

Just a universal spring just measure the distance you need and find one online

Hey yeah I am from the Netherlands and recently bought a used Ford focus mk3 1.6 Tdci. After driving for couple of months, I noticed my clutch is acting weird In long runs, high speed runs and eventually to low speed city runs as well. The clutch feels very jerky, does not return to its default position after releasing it, sometimes does not get pressed hard enough or all the way to bottom for me shift to gears. Does a simple hack like your is really a good long term solution? Did you manage to solve the issue permanently? Or do you suggest getting Steeda clutch assist upgrade spring for Ford focus. Its pricy but I heard good reviews about it.

Check this fix out that I did on my Ford C-Max. Sorted pedal issue out in half an hour. kzbin.infoBE6JJkhDyo8 Best spring to use is for a Bloomberg/Beko dishwasher door the 120mm one with a longer hook shank on one end. Thanks for your video to point me in the right direction, problem sorted. Issue is a Ford design fault. they have got the spring geometry wrong on that when you press the clutch too far the ford spring extends over the perpendicular so can't flip back up. Kev
