This 1/4 mile compilation is dedicated to Ford's hot hatch Focus RS & ST. There's a couple of non-RS/ST models in there but as dedicated drag cars I thought I'd include them anyway!

@@jakekent414 you either don’t own an st or don’t understand what launching a car is. sure you can get it to move from a red light but lining a powerful fwd car up with anything else is a big disadvantage

They are ridiculous slow. Don’t deserve the RS badge !! My MK1 Escort RS 2000 with 180hp many years ago regularly ran mid 13’s at factory weight on std wheels/tyres!

Heavy, FWD, street tyres and big power isn’t a great combo for drag racing 😅 my Mk1 Fiesta with 160hp runs high 13s

My mk7 Fiesta 1.4 zetec is probs quicker off the line than my ST but the 3rd gear pull aint so good 👍

Erm this car was the first Brit/ Euro ford to run in 13s from factory. And in came out in 2009 , in the USA in 60s American Fords ran in the 13s. Cosworths ran 15s from factory. And that was considered fast back in 80s and 90s. For a factory from wheel drive the RS was one fastest FWD cars of all time

@@gmain1977 erm the sad fact is the new focus RS is the slowest of the pack. Beaten by the Golr R RS3 AMG 45 and 35 and more. Std Cossie doesn’t run in the 15’s. Ford have lost the plot really. As we all know the ‘open deck’ block design caused and still is causing loads of problems. It’s got TWO many doors, kind of ugly really. Only fast Ford now is the GT. I still say the new focus RS doesn’t deserve the badge. Back in the day every Ford wearing the RS badge was fast in comparison to its competition. Sadly not today. This is coming from a Ford fan, who brought a Cossie 3 door new in 87. I’ll never buy another Ford. To much better around. Fact 👍

@@watergate9557 those cars are much more expensive, Ford have always been about reasonably priced cars at a price most people can afford. The New RS won group tests against those cars on launch due to price and drainer involvement. The RS focus is a manual , A45, RS3 ,Golf R are not and are much less involving. RS was 30 grand nothing for that price could tough it. A45 is 50 grand plus those cars are status symbols they are boy racer cars because people are more bothered about badge prestige. The RS3 on track is not that good also the poor feed back. Yes it has 4 doors so did the Saphire Cosworth. Fast Fords are suppose to be fun. Back in 90s people had RS Turbo's R5T etc and Cossies but cars like Supra's RX7s GTO's were faster but they costed much more money. But the boy racer hit hatch community back then is much better than the scene now..its all about Audi,BMW,Mercedes on finance "its got stage 3 recap." If you into cars and got family having a RS would be comprise with the doors. And RS are not meant for drag racing really. Audi and Mercedes even BMW have no history in making hot Hatches especially affordable ones. The Mustang which has 450hp for like 30 grand BMW M4 cars are like 80 grand way over priced and they sound shit. And the other cars fart when change gear horrible. Back in 90s sapphire cossie costed much less than a M5 and had mass appeal. When Ford launched RS in 2001 that Focus was the hottest hatch at that time same with MK2 it was the baddest at it's time. Snob marques who have no clue about hot Hatches make them and they desirable due to badge. Why would I spend 50- 60 grand on those when I can Dodge Challenger Hellcat , Dodge Viper, Camaro , Boss Mustang ,GTR all of which much more exciting.
