Absolutely fantastic. I was able to change my timing belt, very slowly, following this. Knowledge like this is such a pearl. You are so kind to share your knowledge and experience. Thank you so much.

@@GlossaME That is a very honest confession. We are all afraid of the unknown. Mechanic for cars has made it very clear. The only extra I can add is replacing the plastic rocker cover was a pain and I managed to cross thread the threads behind the cylinder head! New seals at the air intakes make it much easier.
@GlossaME3 жыл бұрын
@@hughferrier5837 Ouch. Thanks for the sincere reply. We are more than capable to do a job like this, as no one was born a qualified mechanic. But the way I know me, and how sometimes I rush things or forget stuff, the cambelt isn't the place to mess arround with. I will still ponder on it :)

Hey I just had 2 more questions, why was the engine light on at the end, and would you need to bleed the air from the coolant at the end? Thanks!
@mechanicigor7 жыл бұрын
the car had problem with air meter thats why it was illuminated check engine,on this engine i never had to bleed the air from the coolant but if you want you can leave open the cap for the coolant until the temp. reaches 90 degrees
@MyJamesMusic7 жыл бұрын
Oh I understand, just was checking as I hoped the light doesnt come after timing belt replacement, thank you for the advice :)
@mechanicigor7 жыл бұрын
just make sure all the pins are inserted in the right place or the car will not start or worse it can damage the engine
@MyJamesMusic7 жыл бұрын
I just need to add the pins to 2 areas no? The crankshaft and the camshaft?

Great video mate,just a quick question do you first lock the flywheel in before removing the crankshaft pulley bolt or after you’ve loosened the bolt, thanks
@mechanicigor4 жыл бұрын
Locking the flywheel is just for opening the 18mm bolt on crankshaft pulley not for timing,for timing there is different hole

Okay thank you, and perhaps if you have time a video on changing the fuel filter would be great too, or just to teach how to bleed the fuel line, because once I ran out of fuel and I couldnt start it up again without someone bleeding the line, but to learn how to do these things without a mechanic is a good life lesson

@mechanicigor5 жыл бұрын
According to the manual timing belt should be replaced at 180000km I change them at 150000km because this is a taxi vehicle and engine is working more but there are less km and another thing I think zetec is for petrol engine tdci is for diesel
