Great video and very helpful. I don't believe that anyone could have done a better job. I can just imagine at how proud that your father must have been to have a daughter that is such a wonderful tractor mechanic/technician. There's no doubt in my mind that you could do anything that you set your mind to do. Thank you very much for showing me what I needed to do to fix my accelerator pump from sticking and how to adjust the brass to fit correctly. You saved me from having to purchase a new/rebuilt carburetor. I'm going to definitely tell people about your site. Thanks again.👍

nice to see someone who doesnt mind getting their hands dirty. as an aside, the factory manual for a float level of 63/64" without hillside floading and 7/8" with floading kit. both with a tolerance of +-1/32" measured from the casting (no gasket) to the bottom of the float. inverted carb such that the weight of the float holds the needle shut. great video. subscribed and looking forward to more on the ford 2000. maybe fluid changes??

Thank you very much for this video. One of the key things I found is that the float level is critical. I wasn't real fussy at first and the tractor needed a slight choke to stay running smooth. I tore the carb apart and very carefully measured the float level and fussed with it until it was as close to perfect as possible. Since there isn't any adjustments, this really matters. Now my tractor runs very smooth. I also had a stuck accelerator. The difference between having that work and not is amazing. Put a load on the tractor before and the governor would slowly compensate. Now, the tractor reacts instantly and quickly gets things up to speed. Love having the factory Holley running than replacing it.

She could do it on contract for a limited amount of time,hired as a consultant. Tax deductible for them,I do believe. A win-win win situation for all. Putting out some of the videos/ instruction for the general public,some not. Good PR for hiring her,a known quantity, and no harm done to her original business. If I am wrong,it is in details, not the overall idea. Yours is a very good idea. I wonder if it will ever come to be.

Great tutorial. Thank you! Just one detail I would like you to consider valuing if you read our comments. I heard by two farmers to "never start a tractor while on the ground but sat on it. Much less in front of its wheels." And one of them mentioned "some fatal accidents he got to heard or witness related to tractors running over some due to just that." I really won't like anything like that to happen to anyone that's why I mentioned to you so, if this is worth to keep in mind, maybe, in the future you either want to start them first at least in the seat, then, in the ground once you know it won't run all over OR, you may want to start them always, while on the seat so you make sure all "behaviors" are safe". Take care!

Hello Rachel: I can't help myself but comment about what would happen to me if I were doing this work. First, those itty bitty little screws on the throttle plate. I either would lose them prior to getting them near the carburetor or lose them down the throat of the carburetor. My fingers don't work as well as yours. Secondly, If I were doing this, when I have completed the assembly, there would certainly be parts left over. It has happened to me. Thirdly, I would have you do the work for me and I would compensate your labor - gladly. Dad has to be very proud of his daughters. I am of my three daughters for sure.

Young lady you have done a wonderful job. I do however have a comment. As someone that buried his father-in-law after he "Knew" the tractor was in neutral, but it wasn't, I would NEVER instruct someone to start a tractor standing on the ground. When that thing fires, you have zero chance of getting out of the way if, for some reason, it is in gear. Please don't do this.... Thanks and keep up the great work.

Carburetor dip solutions are a joke now days. Carb cleaner is the way to go. Rebuilt a Ferguson Marvel carb a few months back. Somebody liberated that carb of the jets, and the goofy spring on the choke flap. I was amazed it ran, albeit rich, but it did run. I did poke around your website and didn't see any offerings for that carb or tractor. I have not purchased the parts yet, so if it is something you carry let me know.

About that fuel pump, it would make a good subget of diagnosis of fuel delivery problems since these are not gravity fed with multiple fuel filters. I cannot find information on how to replace the pump other than remove the two screws securing the pump on engine frount plate.

Hello this video came up on a search for carburetor removal. Wish you showed that, or had a link to another video that showed removal and replacement. it. I think there is an easier way to do it then taking off the fuel line at the filter rather than on the carb. Anyway my issue is when I start up the tractor it continue to rev up to max rpms until I either pull the choke (temporary fix) or shut it off completely.

First of all, you do an excellent job. Your presentation, flow and explanation are all outstanding. You are a natural and very knowledgeable. However, (and I know others have mentioned it already) I think it is worth stating again that the exposure to used oil is particularly harmful and a well-known carcinogen. Your skin is not impermeable to used oil so the use of barrier gloves is critical. As I'm sure you know, stores stock all sorts of non-silicone gloves such as nitrile for the kind of work you are doing. Please take care of your exposure to any and all fluids, vapors and particulates. I was forced to wash parts in gasoline as a kid day after day with no personal protective equipment. That exposure has been determined to be the most likely cause of neurological damage I am now suffering from. Once again, you do an excellent job with the repair but make sure you do an excellent job with safeguarding your health. Cheers!!!

I successfully rebuilt the Holley carburetor on my Ford 2000 3 cylinder. However, I also replace the fuel pump and that has proven to be more difficult since I can't get the line out from the pump to the carb to stop leaking-the flange of the line looks good and the new pump looks like it should work. I'm afraid to overtighten the brass. Discovered the leak after putting the radiator back on. It is a lot of work to remove that radiator. New lines are expensive. Should I just tighten it down more?

I watched another video and they had a spring on the float with the warning "don't lose that spring!" I took mine apart and was in a panic because it didn't have a spring. There's not a spring on the float in this video either though. So now I'm a little confused. Are they supposed to have a spring? Did they not put them on in older carbs? Where both of ours rebuild before and someone lost the spring? I'm not seeing a spring if you buy the float separate and I don't see one in the rebuild kit.

omg i never saw a 2000 with a carburetor ! I was a young mechanic for Fords in mid 90´s and we did full repair on many Ford engines and all where Diesel engines. In 1 occasion we got a new block with new pistons in it from england and we install all the rest from teh old engine and wonder why the hell that thing wont start up and instead of firing up it always smoke white. After a hour or so our master came back from a outside field repair job and he looked the smoke, told us to take off the cyl. head and than he laughed. "Noobs the shit English sent you a block with gasoline pistons inside !" :-) Than we quickly notice the difference between the Diesel and gasoline pistons; the gasoline psitons had a central deep round groove instead of a more shallow excentric for more compression for Diesel. We changed the pistons and voila Ford 2000 runs like new ;-) I take 1 of the 3 gasoline psitons and rasp 4 grroves around the outer edge , cut the piston shirt and since than it works at home as a nice ashtray ! greetings from germany !

My gas 2600 starts without choke when cold and runs rich at lower rpms. Adding throttle, it stumbles some and then runs excellent. Is there an adjustment for high idle or is there something else I'm missing?
@DanGingell
@DanGingell 5 жыл бұрын
Running rich at low RPM can be corrected on the idle adjustment shown at the end of the video (on the throat of the carburetor, not the shaft). The high idle needle could be cleaned--it is in the tube inside (however, there is no adjustment). The stumbling could be an accelerator pump that is sticking.
