Looking good you've done an awsome job on the old girl. I looked into the L9000 at work unfortunately its rotted beyond doing anything with it and the motor is see thru ... lol
@robstruckshop802 жыл бұрын
That’s too bad. Gotta watch out for those see through motors 😂

Absolutely beautiful Lil 9 ❤️. I cut my green teeth on a '95 L9000 dump truck with a 3406. And the sound man. Oh man the sound. I miss how good the sleep is in a idling truck in the sleeper 😭. But I agree with the other guy. Make a mp3 of that beautiful girl running around the roads. I'd buy that for a dollar 😁😆😅😂🤣🤣🤣🤣. Great job man. Keep it going 🇺🇸.

great videos! try not to range select in neutral, you’ll have to split the back box to repair it the $8 part it wrecks
@robstruckshop802 жыл бұрын
The transmission will only allow range shifts to happen in neutral, so it’s more that I tend to forget to pre-select the range and then am waiting on the range synchros to catch up while in neutral. Thank you for watching
@fuddmethen2 жыл бұрын
@@robstruckshop80 right Eaton Fuller transmissions only allow it to change range in neutral position, and they say to always pre select range. You’ll get it, just have to pay a little more attention to whether your about to upshift to high range or go back to low range.

@robstruckshop802 жыл бұрын
I bought that bus from the junkyard and parted it out but I do still have the hood. I don’t want to sell the headlight assemblies separately but i’m selling the hood for cheap. Email me at robstruckshop80@gmail.com if you’re interested

Do you ever use the gooseneck ball on the back?
@robstruckshop80 Жыл бұрын
I’ve used it a couple times for my camper that has a gooseball hitch, but mostly I welded it in because I wanted to have the ability to pull one if I ever need to…. “Just in case”

What’s the insurance cost on that truck? Thinking about getting one for a tow rig.
@robstruckshop802 жыл бұрын
On our commercial policy it’s about $1200/year. You could also do historic Insurance through Haggerty, would be about $400/year for 20k in value but historiccpkates and insurance technically limit how much you can drive and what you can haul.

Looks really good. The truck seams like it pulls really well .how does it feel with a load on
@robstruckshop802 жыл бұрын
It’s actually a bit bouncy and tougher to drive as a bobtail- with the pump turned up the throttle gets slightly touchy. But with a load on it smooths right out. That’s only about 26000 behind her but it pulls mild Michigan grades just fine and runs out to 70 mph now when needed.
