Hello friends, on today's episode we are going to cover what is included in the Ford Co-Pilot 360™ program on the Lariat Lux model. Some major differences here vs the rest of the Maverick lineup so it was worthy of it's own video!

I just got the first edition with lux and for the price point, mpg, aesthetic and all the extra features I am honestly blown away. I got mine used with 68 miles on it due to previous driver passing away unfortunately. It's the closest to a brand new vehicle that I've bought and I could not be happier. I definitely agree with your take on the lane keep. I'm driving around the WMA regularly and I love the hybrid engine. You are definitely correct about the post turn bobbing and recorrect. If you know the limits of the 'autodrive'/lane keep then it's an absolute dream to drive and really lets you enjoy the ride and pay closer attention to other drivers as you don't need to be locked into the dynamics of active steering component to the same degree. Incredible vehicle.

Even the Tesla Auto-Pilot needs constant attention, especially while in town. This is lane centering. It isn’t lane departure warning or even lane keep assist. Both of those systems only beep or yank the wheel when you depart a lane without signaling. This is much better than that. If someone is silly enough to take a nap, climb in the back seat and make video or just tune out to their driving responsibilities, then I hope they survive the accident and make restitution to those harmed by their ignorance.

Really good review. I was wondering about the lane keep assist, and you explained it very well. The value of this system didn't make a lot of sense to me if it doesn't actually drive itself, but your discussion about staying fresh during longer road trips makes its purpose more clear.

very good in dept review of this system. thanks for making this. I really wish 1) the ACC was an option with out co pilot 360 ( i think all the co pilot fetures are a waste); 2) that ACC was a stand alone option on the XLT

@@MoneyShift looks like for 2023 the adaptive cruise with lane centering will now be an a la carte option with Lariat trims (No need to add lux pack).

I’m a runner for a Ford dealer in New England and I think the adaptive cruise is fantastic in highway driving. I will be ordering a new Maverick with Lariat Lux soon. The problem is they are so far behind orders it’s crazy.

With my 2022 first edition with lux with the stop and go adaptive cruise if the car in front stops you will also stop but all you need to do to get going again is step on the gas pedal, you do not have to push the ok button to get rolling as you mention in your video. Maybe there was a software update to do this?

The autopilot will help improve my hands free driving, previous i would wake up when i hit the rumble strips and know i needed to go the other way.

Seems to work as well as the Hyundai lane keeping and adaptive cruise. That's good enough for me.

The self steering system works if the lanes are well marked, but it can stray if the lines disappear on one or both sides of the lane.

Exactly. With out any sort of advance camera/sensors...it does REALLY need distinct lines to succeed.

Great video. Thank you. I wanted to ask what color is that Maverick. Also wanted to ask about GPS/ mapping. Looks like the moving map was displayed on the dashboard screen. I didn't know you can get GPS. I thought you had to use your cell phone to see a map.

This car is Carbonized Grey! Regardless of trim level purchased for the Maverick you cannot get built-in Navigation. You either have to change the whole unit for a higher trim level Ford Escape screen or use Apple Carplay/Android Auto.

No, you need the Co-Pilot in order to get it.

Most cars adaptive speed control will not kick in at speeds under 25 but will slow to any speed and follow the cars speed in front of you.

no better than the honda lane assist. No torque on the steering at all for the sharper highway turns. But the under 25mph stop and go cruise is nice

I think your wrong. Lane Centering (not Lane Keeping) in conjunction with Adaptive Cruise Control will drive the Maverick hands free. I've driven my Maverick this way in stretches for hundreds of miles. It works perfectly. You only need to place about 1 lb of weight on the wheel at 3:00 or 9:00. That's it. Drive hands free. Of course you still need to be fully attentive and ready to take the wheel at a moments notice. Those is no different than a pilot using auto pilot. The plane flys itself but the pilot is still there making sure the plane is flying itself as the pilot would themself. But no, the Maverick can't drive itself out of the box. It requires a simple hack.

Just because the car CAN drive hands free down the road, does not mean you should. While it has the systems to do it in perfect conditions on an open road, the car cannot adjust quickly enough to changes or imperfections in the lines/traffic/other drivers...as a result, you should remain attentive with your hands on the wheel ready to take action. Unlike the SuperCruise/BlueCruise/Tesla System, the Maverick does not have excessive cameras or sensors that give the car an understanding of changing conditions to allow it to drive with precision.
