The title says it all! Yep. I let my sister loose in my near-100-year-old pride and joy... Enjoy the video :)

I imported my Ford Model T from the USA, not far from Detroit, Michigan where it was built.
The Model T was manufactured between 1908 and 1927, and was know by various names including Tin Lizzie, Flivver, T‑Model Ford, or just 'T'.
The Model T set 1908 as the historic year that the automobile became popular. It is generally regarded as the first affordable automobile, the car that opened travel to the common middle-class American; some of this was because of Ford's innovations, including assembly line production instead of individual hand crafting.
On May 26, 1927, Henry Ford watched the 15 millionth Model T Ford roll off the assembly line at his factory in Highland Park, Michigan.

Today was a great day for me. I drove my 1926 Model T Two-door sedan for the first time. It sat for several years (5 or 6) never having the motor run. I got it about a month ago and spent most of my time on my car conducting maintenance and quite a bit of time on the wooden spoke wheels that I doubt were never treated and greasing bearings and such. What I said to myself was, "And now for something entirely different". Nothing could be closer to the truth. But no mishaps. Love my Liz.

Your sister drove that better than most people here in Arkansas have their trailer lights working. I've seen so many trailers with lights either out or not connected that I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

I drove a friend's '24' a couple weeks ago. I've ridden in a few T's so I understood how they work. Getting my feet to connect to my brain was a bit of a challenge!

What is very misunderstood about the T is that the 2 speed transmission is a 2 speed Automatic without a torque converter . In turn people are very confused because we are accustomed to either a stick shift with a manuel transmission or a fully automatic with a torque converter. In the early 1900's there were either a stick shift standard or the primitive automatic Model T's transmission... in turn people mostly weren't confused. Many woman drove Model T's and later many woman had a very hard time with the Model A's and gave them up but kept driving T's. Ford's T was way before its time... when the torque converter 2 speed transmissions came out in the 50' ... well welcome back Model T... with a new and improved version...hehehe

I must say, I love the Model T, this car is iconic but man is it not intuitive to drive (and in theory I should know how to drive it, I've read enough and watched enough about it to know what every pedal and lever does)... When you're used to modern cars I guess, it must have made more sense back then, like not pressing a pedal to advance and controlling the speed with your hands just like with horses. I wish I could some day try driving one as well but definitely not on an open road, that would be terrifying XD Congratulations to your sis, she did amazingly well at the wheel.

Fun to watch, thanks for sharing. My grandmother Boyles' first time driving a Model T (or anything else), she ran it up a utility pole guy wire. She laughed when I asked what happened. She said her brother pushed it off the wire and they proceeded. He was obviously a patient fellow. She was an excellent driver, so she must have gotten it out of her system back then when Model T's were new. My other grandmother never learned to drive at all.

I've known tractors to have altercations with guy wires, this is the first time I've heard of it happening with a Model T 😆 life was much simpler in the old days...

My sister is also called Zoe (two dots over the "e") and I let her drive my 1934 Austin 7, which is MUCH easier to drive - more modern, I didn't think she would like it, but said afterwards it was quite enjoyable and she could get used to driving it! My young nephew is insured to drive the car but as yet there has not been an opportunity for him to have a go. I think it is important to make the cars available so as to generate as much interest in them as possible! Thanks for sharing.

My sister's name is also spelled Zoë 😁 not on paper but Mum likes the dots 🙂 The Austin 7 is also one of my favourite cars after the Model T! The Austin 7 features in Roald Dahl's "Danny the Champion of the World", in the film, 9 year old Danny is seen driving it! 🚗

Hi Down there. My girl friend is also training driving her own 23- touring and she loves it. Repairing the starter is not just, so easy-since the original design did not include a starter. Pls check the small screw under the steering wheel, it should be turned180 degree up, and fastend-otherwise you might end ud with the steering wheel in your hands and the car in a seriuos accident-have a good time. Nothing nicer than a drive in a T Ford. Nice to let your sister drive. The more she drives it the more she'll like it. Maybe she'll import one too. Have been watching your channel for a couple of years but just subscribed tonight. Don't know why it took me so long but anyway it's done now. Enjoy your videos very much. I have a 1922 touring i'm restoring. It's a Canadian built so wood is different than the American T. Replacing nearly all of it except the wood in the cowell which is still good. Will be watching for your next video.

Hi Mitch No my T is a left hand drive. All T Ford right hand drives for export were made in the Canadian plants. The demand for Ts in the USA was so great they didn't have time to make right hand drives so Ford had them made in Canada as our production was much lower and easier to change from one to the other. Early in the century Canada left it to the provinces to make their own traffic rules so some provinces drove on the left side and some on the right. Then sometime after they decided to go left hand drive the same as the USA. Actually early in the century Nova Scotia was right hand drive but had changed to match the USA. There are still a few right hand drive Ts that survived. We made both right and left hand drives. This also carried on with the Model A Ford's from 1928 - 1931. But by that time they all were for export to Australia and South America. I think some went to New Zealand as well. Looking forward to your next video. I'm going to go back and watch your earlier ones too.

Traffic rules predated Canadian Confederation, and under section 92 of the BNA Act (1867), the provincial governments have jurisdiction over it. Prior to Confederation traffic kept to the right in the Province of Canada-modern day Quebec and Ontario-but on the left in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. When British Columbia and Prince Edward Island joined (in 1871 and 1873 respectively) they also kept to the left. However, the Northwest Territories and all the provinces carved out of it (Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta) kept right. Travel by car across Canada was practically impossible until the 1920s so the idea of cross-country uniformity wasn't a big issue until then. BC outside of the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island switched to right-hand traffic July 15, 1920. The rest of the province was sparsely populated and physically separated from the Lower Mainland by road anyway; a road link east of Hope wasn't finished until the mid-'20s. The rest of BC switched to the right on New Year's Day, 1922. New Brunswick followed suit on December 1, 1922. Nova Scotia switched on April 15, 1923. PEI finally switched over to the right on May 1, 1924. Newfoundland, which was an independent dominion of the British Empire until 1934 and joined Canada March 31, 1949, drove on the left until January 2, 1947.

Could you do a Video on how to clean out the fuel tank? Mine needs a clean to run again, and I don’t know how to do it properly.

The easiest way would be to remove the tank, flush it out with degreaser or a proper fuel tank cleaner and put it upside down so it drains out properly... mine isn't dirty so I don't need to remove it.
