My grandmother bought the first 1966 mustang in our town in 1966. Automatic, 289, Chrome air conditioner unit , power steering- all for 2600$ out the door price. I was with her that day and was six years old. I look at the prices today and have a heart attack every time I look at how the prices go up. Nice cars but you have to be a lottery winner to own one. Great car and Respect.

I have this Roushcharger plus a little more in my otherwise mostly stock 07 GT with 3.73 gears. Same colour too. She's a rocket all right, I love the blower whine. You can just stomp on it and that wail just turns heads everywhere. I love it.

It's amazing that the 6.1 (370cid hemi) in my Challenger, only pxroduces10 less ponies when she was stock and isn't even blown lol. It's a sweet lit stang and really like the retro styling of the early years and credit Ford for ignitng muscle car war 2.0 in 05. In all reality, it was one of the reasons that daimlerchrysler launched Challenger in 08 and then GM released their pony car version in 2010. it was the beginning of this awesome era that us power crazy gearheads never thought would ever see happen, and is absolutely incredible. When Dodge released the 2015 Hellcat, it shocked everyone and set the bar at a whole nother level for production cars. Then in 2018, the iconic engineering marvel Demon was created and the rest is history 💪🏼😎

@deadeyedickification i see... u may have a point there. the Coyote 5.0 w/ less power does get through the quarter mile a bit faster or at the same time. but really the Roush is more of a track car than it is a straight line performer. those Shelby's just need better tires than the Goodyears it came with.

This car is almost perfect, almost meaning I wish they would have went with a five spoke painted rim instead of chrome, the white with have went perfectly with the white near the front fenders and hood. Could have less weight also as we'll.

I don't get why people think superchargers sound like dying cats with a "terrible sound"... sounds like a space ship or something taking off! I'd probably prefer supercharger sound over turbo, too. Such a powerful and commanding sound combined with a big, meaty V8.

@chicagocarsdirect I'm not dissagreeing with you about how American appreciate cars- most people where I live have never seen any Porsche besides a base line Boxster. But I think people are quicker to give you a nod or thumbs up because it reflects America memories of the old muscle cars. I know it sounds cheesy. I always have people want to take a picture of my '65 Mustang- lots of thumbs up and waves- whereas people don't even look twice at my cousin's Carerra 4s. ( I think 4S?)

Ford saw your stupid comment and gave the 2012 GT500 660hp, giving it 100hp extra over the year before.. Mercedes SL65 AMG has 612bhp.. Murcielago has 640hp.. BMW M5 F10 has 560hp.. Audi R8 V10 has 525hp.. Gallardo LP560 has 560hp.. Porsche GT2 RS has 620hp.. Corvette ZR1 has 640hp.. ALL those cars go for AT LEAST $100 000.. Mustang goes for $54 000.. Bang for the buck? Now lets spend another $50 000 on midifications and you got a personal unique car that goes better than a $100 000 euro car..

@chopper82p No way dude, everyone knows the Roush 427R is a step above the GT500. The 4.6L vs. 5.4L engine means nothing when you consider the considerable suspension upgrades. Not to mention the more unique exterior styling.

@chicagocarsdirect i disagree with that. the problem is that here in the US the mustang is more of a Icon, that's what 45 years of history will do. Add the addition of one of the greatest tuners alive and you get a better response. The US alone is the biggest market for new/used and collector car in the world(excluding china) if that alone isn't appreciation, i don't know what is. mostly every American dreams of owning great cars, specially BMW's and other Imports. Ferrari anyone?

@QFizzV8Fizz with the gt500 and an upgraded suspension it is worth the money because of the performance. and + the roush isn't easily upgradable, performance wise, the gt500 you can switch a supercharger and pulley and get 750-900 hp. thats potential, the gt500s got it, the roush doesnt.
