Neither one of the drivers know how to burn out to clean and heat up their tires and don't know how to pre-launch. On top of that we have a track that is on a pretty steep angle running UPHILL. What kind of racetrack for 1/4 mile times is like that? This was a total FUBAR for all of the racers. Only in Europe!

It's not a demon. After his burn out on the plate as he drives up to the starting line you can clearly see the hellcat emblem on the front fender. Just because you have a demon hood on a hellcat, that does not make it a demon. The demon was a lot more than an extra wide hood scoop. A lot more! Put that mustang up against a real demon on a quarter mile prepped track and it'll be the demon every time. Because that's what the demon was made for. Quarter mile, prepped track. It's not made for round or oval tracks. Just quarter mile straight aways.

I'm a GT500 owner, and you're correct. Stock vs stock the Demon is winning a drag race because it's set up specifically to do one thing, and do it really well. As soon as you allow tires and modifications etc, the waters become muddy. Both cars are incredible machines. The GT500 is a very well-rounded street & track weapon but not nearly as limited at nearly 14,000 produced over three years. The Demon is very exclusive at just 3000 units, and Dodge did an amazing job marketing the car.

@@Fmandan77 the gt500 is a formidable machine, no two ways about it. It's only getting better as Ford keeps making them and perfecting them year after year! Let's not forget about the 5 second fox body mustangs from the 1980's that are eating up the quarter mile tracks. For me it comes down to preference. When I purchased my challenger ( I have an original, numbered 2014 shaker),I drove the mustang and the camaro. I had a vette for 16 years, so I really didn't want another vette. They're not comfortable for long drives and I'm 60 years old and I don't want to race at every red light anymore. So in 2014 when looking for a retirement present for me to end a 32 year career as a union laborer, I looked at the Ford, Chevy and Dodge for best bang for the buck, period and as a union man, it had to be from the big three! Ford was to small and in order to get more horse power than dodge you talking in the 60 thousand dollar range, for Chevy same thing, car was smaller inside, Chevy was having problems with the electronic ignition and to get more horse power than dodge you were in the 50 thousand dollar range. My built from the factory to my specification original built bumper to bumper and only year numbered which at the time was faster than the gt and ls camaro was nicer interior, faster, rarer, and in my opinion the best looking of the three. You can understand why I chose the dodge. If I was 30 years old and wanted the currently fastest and money was no object, I think I'd choose the gt500. Only for the speed though, my opinion is the challenger still looks more bad ass than the mustang or camaro. I'll tell you though the new C8 vettes are getting their act together. Won't be long before they're taking down gt500! To bad dodge is leaving the hemi's behind. I would have liked to have seen dodge super charged hemi's with a 10 speed transmission. That would have put dodge back on top in the quarter mile tracks again in my opinion. But the gt500 is definitely no joke. It's a bad ass machine!

That's freaking retardedly fast. What a way to end a full run with the current generation of hemi's. On top, years before everyone else. Just like back in the 1960's. Could you imagine if dodge ever put a 10 speed transmission in the hellcats or demons? It would have been a different story against the high end mustangs and camaro's. But alas dodge's hemi's are being put to sleep. End of an erra. Besides those new corvette mid engines are now chewing up the tracks. Dodge had their time on top. Then Ford did too for a few years with the super snake, but now it is chevy's turn with the new high end mid-engine vetted. Congrats to America's big 3. And Chevy's corvette isn't even a muscle car, it's a super sports car meaning the comparison is un equal. And dodge and ford decieded to not compete against the corvette anymore because of the fact of money. GM is making big mistakes by ending the camaro and upping the corvette. Because they are losing money by ending the camaro and using the left overs forthe corvette. So ford and dodge are actually playing it smart. Except tbh at this point by ending the hemi dodge is thinking more like woke enviromentalists. And If you say the Demon 170 then I reply with 2022 GT500KR 900 hp and 2018 Shelby 1000. But yes I agree with you. All the members of the big three has their strengths and weaknesses. And whether you pick dodge, ford, or chevy. They're all really good car companies.
