Just a heads up, you need to warm up your battery. Testing has been done and it makes the biggest difference. A hot battery at 18% beats a cold battery at 84%. How you can do this is set your Tesla to go to a super charger so it starts heating up. You can actually check the temps in the service menu. Once it’s hot you have like 5min to run it. This guy on YT said you can run a 1/4 mile in 11.4 or less when hot. I and another guy got a 11.691 dead cold after sitting in line for 2hr at 64.5f. I need to go back and try it hot and with my Martian MW03 18” wheels.

I like how you don't have any ego involved and root for the other person to do well and work it so they have another shot at you. One of the big differences is that the ICE cars get to heat their traction tires and some/most(?) have dedicated drag tires, but that is probably offset by AWD(?).

Take it out of track mode. You are handicapping yourself. Track Mode cools the battery. That's the EXACT opposite of what you want when you are drag racing. You want the battery as warm as possible for it to pull the most power from the battery.

Who won or not in any of the races mattered little to me. We own a 2020 GT500, and have a blast driving it. We have not engaged in any street racing, much less tracked the vehicle. I just wanted to own a terrific cruising vehicle with lots of creature comforts and plenty of power on tap - just because I could. I am absolutely thrilled with the GT500 on every point. It is fun to cut around in, knowing there are very few vehicles on the road that can outperform it. Definitely a fun car to drive.

Don’t use the brake on the model 3 to hold it when you launch, let the motors hold the car then just smack the throttle, if you hold the brake there is a very small delay in the brake pedal release, the car should be a bit faster to launch if you don’t touch the brake 😜

The fact that the GT500 owner had to do a burnout, adjust his burnout, adjust his rev limiter, and need a perfect reaction time tells you that it's more an engaging car , there's a connection between driver and car, and not a computer on wheels just smashing the gas pedal. MYP should do 11.7-11.9 1/4 mile. It’s super close to the Model 3 LR with acceleration boost.

If not fun for you simple don't do it. Everyone is different. Teslas are not just used on drag races, look up the records it's broken on tracks. Making a car more complicated to operate doesn't necessarily make it more fun, having the latest tech on a Tesla is incredible. Have you driven one?, is it within your budget if not soon it will prices are consistenly coming down. Soon 0 to 60 in 1.1 seconds, is that fun enough for you!?. Anyway

I agree and I do this cause it’s fun. Sure it’s not as cool as launching a rwd ice car with a manual transmission but I understand that

I would love to but there isn’t a close 1/4 track to me that’s open regularly. I try to go as often as possible but the closest is 3 hours away and they’re open once a month maybe

Why that wouldn’t even be a race a demon 170 probably high 5 second car . The slower demon from 2018 runs consistently 6.2/6.3 . Even that would smoke a model 3 . You would have to have a Tesla plaid to be close

The gt500 only needed 5 "breakfast balls" to finally get you
@Modikie Жыл бұрын
People will say tge gt500 is more engaging but i'll tell you what's even more engaging, a car you built yourself with a manual transmission, no tc, no abs, and doesn't have a roof. If you want a true drivers car, get yourself a factory 5 cobra. Want a fast and fun daily driver that's cheap to maimtain and operate, get the tesla. No reason besides budget to not have both extremes in your garage but if you had to choose one, it only makes sense to have the tesla as your only car because if you want a really engaging riding experience, sport bikes are very cheap, and very fun and more engaging than ANY sports car you can buy today. So if you don't have the cash or time to own a home built factory 5 cobra along side a model 3 performance, just get the model 3 and a sportbike on the weekends. Still cant afford that? Then why are you arguing you'd rather have the gt500 when that costs $100k?

Why is your tesla suddenly almost a second faster in 0-60 ? Software update ?

It’s always been low 3s 0-60 cause it’s performance
