I just drilled through the hole on the valve to let the oil “go with the flow” 😊

Doesn't help that the battery is constantly rubbing that hose and likely creating a pressure and tension spot in the hardline connectors over time. After market designers should take note of routing and look to solve this.

It would be helpful to know what the adapter to push on the pulley looks like up close.

You can just thread a piece of rod into the shaft and press it in with washers etc, the puller kit comes with all that

Hello, I have a problem with my pump. I have a 2000 v6 mustang and I use the exact same rebuilt power steering pump that you show in the video. Now my problem is. When I try to push the pulley back on I feel no pressure. The tool itself pushes back out of the middel of the pump again and I can‘t push it back on.

Compare the old pump to the new one. Measure the shaft size to confirm you have the right pump. Test the pulley back onto the old pump. Maybe it got damaged.

@@98RudolphXmas if you installed it on the old pump and it fits and it does not fit on the new pump then the new pump is the wrong one or defective. Or the pulley got damaged and needs to be replaced.

I am not sure if this is the right one. Call a Ford dealer. Give the part guy your VIN #. Ask for the teflon seal for the power steering pressure hose. Seems to be working fine. If you do have trashed pump it a good idea to clean out the lines.

There is prolly air in the fluid. If there is air in it it will be noisy. Jack the car up so you can turn the steering wheel with the engine off. Do that a few times and let it sit till the air separates from the oil.

My bolts was rusted n the heads broke off from the power steering pump how would i get them out? I tried the screw removal but they not gripping or grabbing

You may need to weld a nut to it. Or remove the entire bracket. Break the pump off with a hammer or just replace the bracket with one from the wrecking yard.

@@chriskolar I’m talking ab the skip everyone skips that part in the vid but personally that’s literally the hardest part for me I was hoping to see how difficult it was to take off but it skipped to when you finished

@staticwalkink2743 I just watched it, I cut loosening the three bolts on the pump and the two 13mm ones holding the bracket. In the video I popped the old pump out. What is missing? Take the pulley off then the hoses then the bolts. Watch the video again. Quit skipping around watch all of it.

Ok I suppose the part you are referring to is the pulley removal. I did show the tool installed and turning it to get it off but did not show it actually coming off. Ok the tool can be rented from the auto parts. I did show turning the tool but not installing the pulley removal toll being put on the pump. Observe the new pump. On the shaft where the pulley goes. Look into the very end. There is a hole. It is threaded. Select the correct threaded stud by checking the thread size. Usually just eyeball a close one and try it. If it does not go in easily do not force it. Try another till you get the right one. On the old pump the threads are probably dirty if not completely filled with dirt. Was it out and make sure it is clean before putting the threaded stud in there. It is very important that the stud is in at least 3/4 of a inch otherwise there may not be enough thread and they will strip out from the force applied while installing. The threaded part is not required for removal. The collar and drive pin is required for this procedure. The drive pin will push on the face of the shaft. It does not interact with the threads. If it does it will damage the threads.
