Are you sure it was the Granada that was the first production car to be fitted with anti lock brakes, its just I seem to remember the car in the tractor advert was a mk2 Vauxhall Carlton??

It was first available on the 1978, Mercedes S class, but as an option I believe. However, the Granada, Mark 3 was the first volume production car with ABS standard fitment. I do recall the Carlton had a similar ad, bizarrely avoid some an NSC RO 80.. if I recall correctly.

Thank you for stopping and featuring my Fiesta 1.6S! Annoyingly broke down on the way home due to a burst hose! The heat, traffic and many miles got a bit too much for the little thing but i managed to bypass and fix it at the side of the road to get me home! 6 hour journey in the end! All sorted now!

It was a real treat for me to see one so many years after I’d taken a customer for a test drive while working at a local Ford dealer. Sorry the journey home was a bit frustrating for you, but good you made it! Old cars break but at least can be fixed without a laptop!

Watching this made me realize how many fords i owned, 3 capris, Granada ghia, escort rs turbo, various xr2s , escort rs mexico, escort cab ,fiesta ghia, fond memories.

When I did the same thing I had a shock too, 1 x Escort Mk2, 1x Fiesta Mk2, 4 x Orion, 3 x Sierra and a Mondeo!!... I missed out on the faster stuff as most were company cars...

I had a brand new focus cc it was a wonderful car but brutal on the fuel for a 2L but I did like it. I’d truly love a mk1 fiesta or an escort van of any sort they really float my boat . Brilliant vid and some great memories 👍

Had a great chat with the owner of the purple MK4. Nice genuine lad. Was his mother's before him. Great example of a MK4. Top lad for keeping it original and mint. He came and had a look at my st150 as well and had a nice convo about that

Lovely to meet you both and thank you for featuring her! I take good care of her and the prep for the show was around a full days work hand washing, interior clean, hand compound oxidation spots, hand polished every panel down to the sills... glad it payed off on the day, and what a day it was in stunning in the sunshine seeing what else was there.

Went to Lydden Hill at the weekend. Proper match up between Mini Cooper S and MK1 Lotus Cortina as it's a short circuit. Ford got it right imho to go into saloon motorsports in a big way. I don't follow touring cars today but for me watching Soper Vs Rouse in the RS500s had me glued to the TV so the Sierra Cosworth would get my vote although as I don't have £000.000's so I will never get to own one.😢.

Thanks Simon, a great collection and turn out at Gaydon. Just goes to show how popular and well sold these cars were through the decades. I remember the 1.4S Fiesta with a twin choke weber that was as quick as the XR2 (MKII) in it's day. I only ever had 1 Ford, an Orion 1.4L, it was reliable but it always gave me a headache as if somehow fumes were getting into the car. It was only two years old o an E Plate (1988)

Another great video Simon. I think that Granada/Scorpio advert is still on KZbin or as part of a longer video on the car as I've seen it recently. The RS Turbo Orion was interesting being a one off. A neighbour had a red MK1 fiesta supersport back in the 90's. The mk1 Ghia looks fabulous. Note the heated rear window which I discovered was not standard access the range at that time. That rebuilt accident damaged Capri shows real dedication. Interesting to see a Cortina in period lotus green and yellow racing colours. The black RS Turbo brings back memories as a high school friend used to get driven to school in one and I remember the burble from the exhaust as is drove past. Great to see people enjoying their cars and even traveling from abroad to attend. A work colleague had an original Fiesta ST new and loved it but said it would have benefited from a six speed gearbox. I saw a Fiesta 1.6 S at FOTU last year, as you say a very rare version these days. It's good to.see it has an owner who was willing to go to such lengths to return the car to its original condition. The MK3 Escort Van was a really common sight on our roads in the 80's. I remember my Dad driving them with Royal Mail. How modern did the Mondeo look at launch? Hard to believe Ford no longer produce the Mondeo. Nice to see tribute being played to fallen comrades with the Churchill image under the bonnet of that Focus. The Probe are hardly ever seen now, they really didn't hit the spot back in its day but any rare coupe now is interesting, especially one with pop up lights and id say it's probably more interesting to look at tham the Mazda 6 that it was based upon. I love the Sapphire Cosworth in the dark burgundy colour. They were always my favourite Cosworth. Those facelifted frog mouth escort/Orion's I remember having a pretty short run before the final.facelift came along.

Thanks Mark, I was staggered that the Orion is 40! I had four a slow 1.6 diesel, a lovely 1.6 Ghia, 1.6 injection Ghia and finally 1.6LX, brand new on a 'G' Plate when I worked at Calderford.. looking at how the video has performed there must be a lot of affection for the Ford brand.. honestly I'm amazed!
