It's all great in theory, but these quick releases are a bitch to get off because as you stated when it's attached to the receiving end which is a solid object the clips won't give, I had to literally break the stupid quick release off and then pull the bad hose off
@malamri4246 ай бұрын
Agreed. Pinching is easy when it's actually off like in this stupid video.

The whole idea of the video is to help you know what you are doing when the stupid thing is in a place you can't see it. Went way over your head, apparently...

This is actually a great video. I'm stranded on the side of the road right now as we speak trying to replace these things and it has helped me out a lot. Thank you. @@TheBTRGarage

been cool to also include what size the quick connect fitting was.

yes, for installation the white part goes on first, then the heater hose connects to it.

Ford and chevy and others use plastic connectors on their radiator / heater hoses. Why? Shouldn't those connectors be replaced by metal/copper/aluminum pipes and metal hose clamps?

Great video. I had no idea what i was looking at back in there.
@railroaded1991 Жыл бұрын
Hey. Heres an idea. Just get rid of this stupid "quick" release and put the hose directly onto the pipe.
@Ed-5276 ай бұрын
Yea , I don't see the purpose for these and their is nothing quick about it. Being plastic it is just another breaking point

I agree completely. The plastic broke on mine. Still have to get the stupid thing off though

It allows for modular replacement. That way you don't need to replace the entire system if something fails on the other side of it. Just wish there was a way to add to it if the clip fails

This is all fine and dandy, if you can REACH the disconnect, which I can't. Is there a special tool that will assist in the removal?

Just checking-in. I felt a disturbance in the force. I thought you might had gone back to an 86. Will check in again later! :D

Hi is there a tool that can be used to re.ove these clips cause the space on the firewall is very cramped

This one should work, but I have not tried it yet: amzn.to/3ZAnhuS Maybe I'll get that to test and post an updated video.

Can break the little white plastic pieces off ? Will the new heater core come with new ones ? I can not remove the white plastic clip.
@capone_rd_80911 ай бұрын
I'm sure you figured it out by now, but yes the new hose comes with the same quick connector, and yes you can gently break it off, that's how I was able to remove mine.

I've had two of these fail in 3 months, spraying coolant everywhere. Ford made these because they hate humanity.

How do I remove the white/clear plastic clip from the heater core tube?? It doesn’t want to pull over that ridge on the tube...
@TheBTRGarage3 жыл бұрын
I remember it being pretty difficult. If you are replacing them with new ones, you can just cut them off. Otherwise it takes some pulling and cursing and eventually they pop off.

why ford used such a method.
@SP-gz5jx2 ай бұрын
Thank you for the tutorial. But in real life use after 10 years of engine heat cycles those tabs are a piece of garbage. Ford trying to save a buck and making life for customers hell is why I’ll never buy another Ford. I want plain, old hose clamps. There is no way a person could make a repair roadside repair if you get a leak without a McGiver fix. Sad Ford has chosen to go this way with simple hose connections.

Terrible video Of course this is the process - related tools needed? Show how to do this IN THE VEHICLE… where there is no room. That would be a good video
@TheBTRGarage Жыл бұрын
The point of the video is simply to show how the hose clips work. That way, when you go do it in the vehicle, where it is very difficult to reach and see them, you know what you are doing. Think a little...

Well, there is nothing quick about these. And what's the point of even using Em? Why not just put the goes on to the metal ? These have broke 2 times on me in 6 years, whats the point
