great job, thanks for the hints! I wish I was home to do this job vs out teaching. I have plugs and wires, think I'll do that before I change the coil out. Mostly to wait til I am home.

this helped me so much, Will be doing this myself here soon at 173k and she’s starting to develope a small little misfire. And pretty positive it’s coming from one of these.

Looks so so so much easier than replacing the plugs on the old Lima 2.3 4 cylinder motors they had in the older Rangers. They had 8 plugs instead of just 4. The ones on the driver's side are buried behind the intake manifold. Real pain in the ass to remove them if you don't remove the intake manifold, but it can be done. It's a pain in the ass either way.

Yea by some miracle they made it easier instead of harder lol

How long until you fix the oil/gasket problem?
@EfurdGarage5 ай бұрын
Not sure depends on the owner now. He is not worried about it yet because he has another car to drive and has not been driving this one much

Nice ! Change that spark plug oil
@EfurdGarage4 ай бұрын
Thanks, Yea i gotta change that next, luckly you can change it the same intervals as the regular oil lol

Hey brother i got a question i changed out plugs, wires and coil i had the same issue i had oil in cylinders 2, 3 and 4 i continued to change them out and not do the valve cover gasket until next week (didnt have time nor the money to go buy the gasket until pay day) i turned the truck on and im still having misfires is it because of the oil that went into the cylinders or because of something else?
@EfurdGarageАй бұрын
@@christophermorejon9693 odds are its not from the oil. Oil shouldnt leak past the plugs if so compression would. Could be cam or crankshaft sensor. Exhaust leak or intake gasket leak. So check those first and see what a scanner says
@christophermorejon9693Ай бұрын
@EfurdGarage only codes that show up apart from misfire 3 and 4 are for an o2 sensor p0135 "o2 sensor heater bank 1 sensor 1" and IMCR p2004 "Intake Manifold Control Runner stuck open bank 1" which I've had both of those codes since before the misfires that had me change all the plugs wires and coil and truck was running fine and now I also get code p2141 "exhaust gas recirculation throttle control circuit A low" which from what you said I'm assuming the reason for the misfire now and from what I looked up has too do with the o2??
@EfurdGarageАй бұрын
@@christophermorejon9693 o2 can be caused from the misfire. Have you tried swapping injectors. Put 1 & 2 in place of 3&4 and see if the misfire moves.
@christophermorejon9693Ай бұрын
@EfurdGarage I have not but I wouldn't want to the the job of getting to the fuel injectors just to test it so I will be replacing the fuel injectors when I take the intake Manifold and valve cover off so I'll be replacing Valve cover gasket, intake Manifold gasket, fuel injectors and the IAC valve and hopefully the misfire along with oil leaking gets resolved I'll also be changing the spark plugs because I realized the spark plugs I was given at the store are a little bit longer

Great video, but you might want to take your air compressor nozzle and blow out the area you're working on.
