Hi sandy, this is quite a common fault on any new-ish ford running a DPF, the "DPF-LOAD" is different to the "DPF-SOOT-QTY". anyway, here how to reset the values and the get rid of the P2463 code. Your DPF soot load is at 150% so the ECU, will not allow a static regen, as the ecu has a safety feature built in, that when certain parameters are outside of the "said" good parameters will not allow a static or road regen. when i see ford dpf's at over 100% soot qty, the DPF has to come off, and be cleaned, we have a dpf cleaning machine, which blasts through and removes the ash accumilation, with flow readings before and after being cleaned. about an hours job once the dpf is off. they can be cleaned off the vehicle as well, using a solution made by WYNNS, and a decent karcher pressure washer, as a rule of thumb, you need to be charging £300 for a complete DPF clean, with oil and filter change after. Anyhow, if that isn't an option for you, as previously mentioned, the way to get rid of P2463 fault code, on ANY Ford,.... With the ignition off, disconnect the MAF/ airflow meter, then start the car up, for 10 seconds, then turn the car off, then re-connect the airflow meter, ignition on, and reset the DPF values, and the then reset the fault codes, as well as the oil degradtion, (if the vehicle has that option) This method works on fords, and PSA engines, (ford/citreon/peugeot) engines, the reason it works is because as you know the airflow meter is classed as a catergory 1 fault, and it does a clean clear of the entire engine faults. The values your ideally looking for on a cleaned DPF after a good road test on a ford ,are soot loadings between 28 to 40% ish. hope this helps. regards kieren

Wow that's great information Kierin, do u think I should get it taken off and cleaned with Wynn's because he is complaining about power or get it replaced considering the mileage? Thanks again for your help, Sandy

@@sandyande hi sandy, i myself previously over the years have only ever replaced a DPF if it has collapsed or been "tampered" with, I.E smashed out. other than that i clean them. Remember the dpf is only a filter, and extremely robust, the wynns dpf solution is an "off" dpf scenario and extremely good at dissolving the ash. If your local spares shop don't stock it, You can use just normal TFR (traffic film remover) solution. and a good high pressure washer, karcher or similar, if you dont have access to a complete forced dpf cleaning machine. If you end up using a pressure washer to clean it, clean it the exhaust flow way first, until the water starts to run clear, after all the carbon has gone, then turn it over and go against the flow, and then back over, you know its getting clean when you start to see the brown almost like rust looking particles coming out of the monolith cells, with the clear water. A pressure washer and solution will clean it, but takes longer, but as said £300 for a dpf clean minimum charge. The machine i use is a DCS-16 by a UK firm called carbon clean, you can get them on finance/lease etc. around 6k to buy outright. and bear in mind from april to april last tax year, i cleaned 248 dpfs, at an average price of around £300 to general public, and charge £120 to trade for them to drop me off their dpf for cleaning. your customer will obviously be complaining of loss of power due to the dpf being blocked and being in limp mode, as you know. but to answer your question, i personally wouldn't replace the dpf, i would clean it, as theres more money in the job by cleaning it, and i'm assuming the customer doesn't want to spend the cost of a genuine ford replacement dpf. i wouldn't fit an aftermarket dpf, as their absolutely horrendous, even the big names, like klarius ect, their just poor quality. and also bear in mind, that if you do buy a dpf from ford, they surcharge you for your old dpf as they re-use the monolith core, and just clean them and out a new casing round it. believe it or not, lol . regards kieren.

Hi Sandy Did you check the vapouriser in the down pipe. Glow plug in fails and the vapouriser also blocks with carbon
