Hi I have 2015 ranger 3.2 auto and it just starting like snapping in first gear as soon as I take off but not even at second it’s in first gear rest of it is fine after that goes up to 100 no problem

Hi, my ranger 3.2 auto is not registering its gears and thus doesn't want to start. It thinks it is in 3rd gear when in park. After 3 days of investigation (cause they didn't know) the dealer says its a sensor. But the description they gave is a bit weird - "moulded led frame sensor kit". I can't find any such sensor kit on a ford on the net. any ideas?

hi, check all the basics first before you remove the trans pan.then you will need to weigh up service history of trans, amount of debris/swarf in trans pan and fluid condition given mileage and vehicle use. the solenoids in 6r80 have a small magnet inside them which gets contaminated easily if regular trans services are not done. make sure you watch my other 6r80 vids there are some other things to watch out for. cheers

I serviced transmission of Ford ranger px. Magnet exactly had same level of metal as yours in this video. I even flushed it by cutting out old filter’s rubber nozzle side , connected a hose peace and dipped it inside 5L transmission oil container. Clear out started coming trough after 2-2.5L’s. Oil level (cold) was on top of B-section. Went for drive. Shifting from 1st to 2nd became bad. It happens very quickly at 2000rpm, with sudden little jerk. Also it makes a sucking noise from bottom somewhere while shifting gears (sometime). I am going to try ‘Lucas oil ‘thing . Any suggestions you can make to get rid of that bad shift ???? Thank you !

hi, check for correct fluid level, then maybe leaking filter seal at pump? check all the basics first....hopefully you didn`t damage the pump with your flush technique. cheers

hi, its on the mechatronic plate, which is on top of valve body. most often has attracted alot of fine metallic debris to it. clean and check the range sensor as well. cheers
