The Ford Ranger is now in its third generation and this latest model is designed to offer the most car-like driving experience yet, without compromising the Ranger's load-carrying or off-road abilities. There are plenty of body style choices, a good choice of engines and the Ranger even looks pretty good too.

I just test drove the 3.2 turbo wildtrack in the UK, the noise of the engine is abit loud but the sound of the turbo spooling up makes up for it, soft smooth ride, i love ford always have and to be honest they are able to build better now than 10 years ago

By the way, have you ever heard about SECURING THE LOAD? That is something you have to do in all kind of freight or cargo vehicles. Thats the way you make sure the stuffs doesnt fly away when you drive fast. If you wanna cover the cargo from weather, just put a cover on it, if the regular load is not tall, then get a cargo bed cover or camper. Dude, this type of small Pick Up Trucks are more common and popular around the world than you think. An F-150 is great, but not for all missions.

The imperial (UK) gallon is defined as 4.54609 litres. The US gallon is 3.785411784 litres and is legally defined as 231 cubic inches. So the mileage numbers will be much higher on UK car reviews when compared to numbers stated in US car reviews since the UK gallon is larger.

Here in the States, we consider the Ranger to be a small truck - the average truck where I am here in Texas is a 1/2 class Ford, Chevrolet, or Dodge 4 door short bed truck which makes a Ranger look tiny. Our F-150's come with a 360HP/380 Lb-Ft 5.0L V-8 or a 6.2L V8 with 411HP/434 Lb-Ft. Even the Base model 3.7L V-6 delivers 302HP/278 Lb-Ft.

I would love to see her take a King Cab Long bed dually into one of those car parks she mentioned. Good looking truck... hope they bring it back to the States.. was a shame they quit making it. I think we could use at least ONE small pickup over here.

So they did stop making the Ford Ranger here in the states? But you know, the Ford Ranger in this video looks like the Ford Explorer that we have here, what is the deal with that. And the Ford Ranger in this video defeats the purpose of what earlier Ford Rangers were built for, Utility.

Well it looks like my next truck will have to be a Tacoma since America has abandoned the compact truck and this truck will never come to the US. Not to mention this thing is almost as big as an F150 anyway. Of course I plan on keeping my 09 Ranger at least another five to ten years so we'll have to see what's around then.
@soko1450
@soko1450 9 жыл бұрын
***** I sure hope so but with the amount of F150's that Ford sells there is really no incentive to do so. To me even the new Canyon/Colorado leans toward full-size a little too much. I sure do hope GM did a lot to improve the quality of these over the previous generation. Only time will tell. If they did then I would consider buying one of those as well. I bought a light duty truck on purpose. I've owned a couple half tons in the past. My Ranger does everything I need it to and I don't have everyone and their brother asking me to help move or haul a load of sheet rock for them.

@trefod
@trefod 10 жыл бұрын
MikeDunn The old city centers of some of Europe's capitals were laid out by the Romans. America was discovered in 1492, but your cities were founded much later and in many cases in a time where horse and buggy transport was taken into consideration. It is difficult to upgrade a city by widening the space between buildings, especially if said buildings are considered worth preserving.

Love reading all the american comments about how big there trucks are, and how small this is. Maybe they forget that we don't generally have a massive amount of room on the UK roads, and our parking areas can be tight to park a normal hatchback in. Must admit, I like the F150, and absolutely love the sound from the V8's in the US, but I would be more than happy to park this in my driveway. Looks mean enough to mean business in the UK. Only thing letting it down is the fuel consumption only being around the 30mpg mark.

No idea why I'm responding to this but oh well, it's actually been argued that it's safer to have your dominant side in control of the steering, brake and watching the oncoming traffic. So some including me would argue it's the other way round, but i would rather just be ready to take someone out with a lance if need be.

Agreed, on the engines, though frankly a diesel would be a great option to have. Diesels are very slowly creeping back in to our market. Slower than I'd like, but I'm in the minority on that front, I suspect. :-] Yes I'm aware of One Ford and the standardization initiative, however I had read previously that this wouldn't be coming Stateside. Could have been conjecture.
