Well done I done my timing chain on my astra 1.3 tdci cost me £145 Garage quoted me £1800 If you take you're time double check your work you'd save a fortune.

are all S-max MK1 shocks interchangeable or are they different depending on what engine the car has?

I think they are all the same pal but I'm not 100% sure I'm sure someone on mad max's group on Facebook will have more information than me I only have a Haynes manual but only goes from 2006 /2015

How do you remove the plastic over the suspensiontower?

Remove all the metal clips and unbolt the window wipers then take the top plastic off and un bolt ur wiper motor move them out way and then you can un bolt your suspension tower
