Ford Super Duty Cruise Control Servo Compatibility

Tom, many thanks for this. I have a 2000 F250 v10 gas pickup and also needed a cruise control servo. Based on your video and prior comments I ordered a 2000-2004 ford focus servo from ebay (part #YS4F-9C734-BC) for $35. That servo worked perfect in my truck! Just swap out mounting brackets and you'll be golden. Great work Tom, you saved me and others a lot of headaches and dollars.

Thanks for the tip Jim! I just put this same 2003 Ford Focus servo into my 2003 Ford E350 Super Duty. Mounting bracket swapped out simply, the electrical and control cable fit the same and the unit works the same through all modes and drives the E350 just fine. What a money saver, especially given the fact the 2003 E350 version of this thing is no longer available. I bought a second servo as a backup for future replacement in case they become unavailable sometime in the future.

I didn't even order one. I just unfroze mine by turning the metal shaft with a pair of vise grips, hit it with penetrating oil, cleaned it with electronic parts cleaner, sprayed it with lithium grease and installed it back. It works now! Thanks a lot!

11/23/2020 YOUR SAVED ME $400!! I can't thank you enough for saving me. I bought a brand new complete servo for a FOCUS for $43 on EBAY. I took the old processor module off my F350 servo and put it on my new servo. It worked like a dream!!!! My F350 processor had printing on it that it was for an Excursion or F350. I figured that it was programed for that weight vehicle, etc. I saved the new processor just for the heck of it. THANK YOU!!!!

Thanks for this. I picked up a taurus servo from the junk yard today. I had to use my old module with the taurus servo box. First time since I've owned the truck that it's worked.

Tom, Thanks for the video. I just added Cruise Control to my 2000 Super Duty 5.4 and took your advice and ordered the Servo unit for the Ford Taurus you mentioned from eBay for $45.00. I had to go to a junkyard for the bracket. It saved me a ton and it works great.

This is a great video not only for the cost savings it is but shows how to use EVTM's of donor vehicles to check electrical compatibility of parts like these servos. Most likely nearly every failed electro-mechanical VSC like this is from the mechanical portion moreso than the electronic section.

Excellent information, in addition mine was frozen from lack of use, so I figured I had nothing to loose, it took a good amount of pressure but once it started to move a little it eventually free wheeled with the help of a little 3 n1 oil at the shaft and bearing points. Reassembled and works perfectly. Thanks for the info

I have a problem with my speed control module. The panel indicator turns on when I press the ON + SET button. but the module does not keep the speed constant. Help me please.

Is there any way to test the signals and connections to make sure I need to replace the servo unit? Might be tough if it needs to be over 30mph before the servo will actuate.

Is there a way to fire the servo motor? The diagnostic procedure says the servo should pull back 1/2 after all the buttons and lights are pressed.... I got one flash at the end, but the servo did not activate

Tom, could you post a copy of the speed control wiring diagram. I am looking for a good troubleshooting procedure for my 2000 E450. Mine like yours has no indicator light so don't think you can do a self check in maintenance mode. My servo is not locked up and I operations checked the clutch by applying 12v. Checked brake lights, deactivation switch. Cruse use to work after a few attempts but will not engage anymore.

Hello Tom. I just bought a 1997 Lincoln towncar. It has had the recall repaired. Everything works. Buttons dash indicator etc. I removed the servo same as u did in the vide and took it apart. Now, the motor u pointed out does not move same as mine. I feel this is the last option to fix my cruise. Did the new servo motor move? If you would get back to me ASAP I would appreciate it greatly.
