FORD TRANSIT MK5 TIMING BELT REMOVED, TURBO OFF, WORKSHOP UPDATE

Just a video update on the transit mk5, turbo has been removed and the timing belt removed, water pump removed ready for replacement, managed to remove one of the broken exhaust manifold studs later in the day. One needs to be drilled out and the hole re-tapped, Walk round the workshop.

I thought that only I - I often use water instead of antifreeze, corrosion destroys the aluminum plate. No, the British also use water instead of antifreeze. I think that it will be correct to install a turbocharger. In the spring of 2017, I installed a turbine on my naturally aspirated engine and am very pleased.

Hey,nice work! I m replacing starter and alternator On mine. Can you tell me witch one of the 2 Red wires it s supposed to be conneted on the b+ on the alternator,? I m a little confused

Unusual for an OHV engine to have a timing belt.

👍 Whats the houseing where the fan is mounted? Ive got a job to change the water pump on this type of engine. Just took a quick look at it and thought that was the water pump. Good thing i did some searching and found this video... 😂

The fan is mounted on the water pump pulley, just need a spanner to undo the nut and the fan will come off

It's not a bad truck now, they all brake but in the u.k they are changing the emissions standards on the m.o.t so all diesels past 2008 have to be on tighter emissions, so for merc sprinter vans and the likes you will spend more time of the road with blocked dpf's. Mk6 transits have issues with wiring on the fuseboxes and fuel pump issues but the old mk5's less electrics on the to cause issues.
