I am loving your channel! Sooooo helpful for me as my aux belt started crying for attention a little while ago but I was having difficulty finding out part sizes or being confident that the online part stores suggestions were accurate. Sometimes those sites gave me options of two products with different part sizes and labelled them as suitable for my van, which just made me more confused which one was right. Your video was crazy helpful. I'm just ordered the right size parts and belt and I'll let you know how it goes - thanks so much!

Thanks for the comments... The aux belt is a nice and easy job you should get on just fine!

Thanks for upload - very helpful. My tensioner pulley bearing totally disintegrated and the belt fell off. Luckily it happened less than half a mile from home!

That is fortunate you were at least near home they seem to go at the most inconvenient times!

Top right is vacuum pump with water pump under it. I couldn't get enough leverage on the tensioner to get the belt over the tensioner last so in desperation got it half on the crank shaft pulley and turned the engine over for 2 secs. Did the trick and wound itself on!
@maxautouk Жыл бұрын
Glad you got it done! They can be a bit trick I must admit

I think the new belt is slightly shorter than old hence why so difficult. Even allowing for stretch in old belt

Can you help me please. The unit is stuck in the hole. The lug nuts appear to be holding the "sprung" section and i cannot pull it free. The bolt holding the tensioner pulley has gone. So it"s basicly just the two aluminum sections. Any help to get the unit out would be amazing. Thank you

If its unbolted and held ip by corrosion a hammer is your friend

Thanks for upload mate, great video. My question is do i need to use the same newton/meters of torque for the tensioner and the idler pulley bolts for transit mk7 2007 2.4 tdci? You use 48 Nm for yours, are they the same 48 Nm for my transit as well? Thanks
@maxautouk2 жыл бұрын
Yes it is the same thanks for the comment!

Good video mate. Any tips for fitting the new belt? So tight!
@maxautouk3 жыл бұрын
Big spanner and pull it as hard as you can and slip on the new belt… it’s tough!
@yeahboiproductions70653 жыл бұрын
@@maxautouk I ended up heating the belt up in some hot water and pulling on it a bit to stretch it. It wa still tough but that made the difference. Cheers for the reply bud!

На старом ролике полая часть смотрит на двигатель а на новом ролике полая часть смотрит на радиатор. Пологаю что разницы нет.🤔

Sorry to sound silly but the last pully at the top is it supposed to spin freely
@maxautouk2 жыл бұрын
It should spin but stop, and it should have no play when you wiggle it with your hand. It should NOT spin freely for more than a few seconds that's usually an indication of lack of grease inside the pulley or that the ballbearinga inside are worn. The pulley should also be virtually silent, if its noisy that's also a sign of wear
@dunster102 жыл бұрын
I just took mine of and the new one dose not spin what so ever
