Falcon's HAS and will ALWAYS dominate all Holden crap. Falcon's are well known to get over 1mil K's on their motor as long as you don't thrash them and even if you do they will still live longer than any piece of shit commodore motor, the V6 design is utter crap and straight 6 motors WILL ALWAYS destroy them. Do your research son, before you end up on the side of the road driving a crap commodore with a blown motor and god knows what else.

+Nacho Business maybe see who makes more power at the wheels. The Falcon makes around 19kW more at the treads than your beloved GTS... you can see a video of it right here on the KZbins machine. IMHO, The thing that has let the Falcons down is Ford's shit choice of tyre.

I am a massive fan of both engines and own an XR6 turbo, but lets think about this for a minute. The commodore has a tune. thats it! The falcon has a bigger inter-cooler, injectors, valve springs, exhaust, most likely fuel pump and a tune. Ummmm would be very embarrassing if it didn't win. Now, put a cam, injectors, vale springs, exhaust and tune in the V8 then report back to me. Thank you

Keanu Brierly and all on a stock block and running gear too. The barra motor has to have forged internals to push it over 1000hp. This race was a bit one sided, N/A vs Forced induction of course forced induction is going to run rings around a N/A car. Put a turbo or a 6/71 and stroker kit onto the LS and that barra would be decimated

Geez a lot of hate going on here lads I have owned many fords and Holden’s over the last 25 years including a 2 door LJ Torana worked 186 with triples a HZ Kingswood with a 350 SBC and several Commodores I currently own a modded XR6 turbo love this car for straight line speed I love it beats anything hands down I ever owned but I don’t have a favourite I loved all my cars for one reason our another we are lucky to live in such a great country with so many amazing cars on offer

Don't know why commodore owners bother racing with autos. My auto vy SS was quick as fuck until 3rd gear/110kmh, almost anything would beat it from 100 to 150 though. Auto boxes are fucking ridiculously bad

The XR6T is quite alot faster on a low budget/stockish but i will say that the SS stays on the road longer. Anything running boost is not as reliable because you are basically over-clocking it pushing more air than it normally takes in down its throat. Just depends what your looking for in a car. I like both but i personally don't buy boosted cars for a daily driver. I don't mind getting smoked by cars with forced induction because i understand the sacrifice they make to drive that as a daily. If im in a nice sounding v8 that is still alot faster than most cars on the road im happy.

mate has a fg xr6t running bigger injectors and a tune putting down 304kw atm and has been going strong for almost 7 years with zero issues while I'd bet in 7 years a SS would have a good list of issues to have had fixed best and only good commo is the VL turbo and guess what it's rocking a Nissan engine because holden were smart for once

I have to totally disagree sorry mate. The internals on the I6 have been over-engineered for a start. They're a super strong, well designed and well made engine. My brother has an 03 BA with around 270,000km on it, minimal maintenance and a fair bit of caning. The only thing that has given any dramas is the coil-packs, nothing to do with boost.

I was just assuming a 15%-20% drive train loss, so maybe around 460HP. The unfortunate thing is that two cars on the same dyno, both with 300(peak)rwkw could run completely different 1/4 mile times.

I’ve seen 320rwkw VE SSV’s with a big cam get chopped by 280rwkw G6E. The falcon has a much better torque curve which is why it wins in the drags

There's your problem. You had an auto SS vs a manual SS. Auto one could have an extra 50kw and still get chopped because of that shit house auto slugbox. As soon as you hit 3rd in the auto you have literally no power. My old Mitsubishi magna was quicker from 100 to 150 than my old VY SS auto

depends what model and what box. manual prob low 12s. zf low 11s. I was running 10.6s with 410rwkw in a fg f6 and 134mph with stock zf stock stall using handbrake and foot brake to launch.

Adaptive Aussie really depends on tune and where youre peak torque and power gets in from and how it holds. making and holding peak power from 4500rpm to 6500 is completely different from making peak power at near redline. youll have to take it to the strip and let the mph give you an indication.

You’re joking right? Both cars stock you’d have the same result in the video . The SS doesn’t make peak torque till nearly 4000rpm while the BA makes peak torque at 2000rpm and holds it all the way to 5000+. And you also didn’t factor in power loss through the driveline. The falcon loses less power through its driveline compared to the SS

A true battle would have to be factory cars, cause anyone can build 1000hp falcons or commodores, so this is kinda irrelevant, and in that case holden would win because the technology is far more superior than that of the last falcons and ford never offered a 474kw falcon whereas holden had the gtsr w1 producing those figures

The bodies of both the Falcon and Commodore are Australian but the Holden uses a US sourced V8 while Ford use a Australian Designed and Developed I6. I think the Ford Falcon is more Australian which is exactly my point.
