Ford should remake the old Ford Escort again! Use better materials though, but still keep the machine as it was... a rear wheel drive leaf sprung monster with no ABS & no power steering, just sheer skill to drive it. If Ford did ever bring it back in this MKII shape, no doubt it'll be front wheel drive with a different suspension set up and the interior would be different.

This is a Group 4 Escort, the squarer x pack you mentioned was for Group 5 cars. They were not allowed i Group 4.
