Ford Pro Electric SuperVan: Technology and Design

My son had a ride in the Supervan on the Ford Dunton test track. It had a fresh charge and was running on sprint slick tyres (soft at room temp without needing preheating). It was awesome, there's almost no way to describe how fast it is. It's accelerates to 60 at an average of 1.2G, so faster than a falling object. But it's not only fast, the craftsmanship of the build is outstanding, with many of the body parts or moulds to make body parts 3D printed at Dunton. A really great promotional project.

That's nice and all but how about a 250+hp hybrid Fiesta ST/RS? ecoboost in the front, electric motor on the rear wheels. Hey I am giving solid sales advice here.

Beautiful van and it's all about performance so with a 50 kwh battery you wont get more than about 22 miles of range around a track.

So they took the idea to someone who said "super what" and got a super "not a van but like all ev let's pretend they're something that their not". So excited to hear they had another supervan and so disappointed that it's not actually a speed up version of the Ford transit but someone that isn't a van, it just looks like it from the outside.

Is this really a van though? Sadly it appears to be a hatchback with a wing molded into the roof & rear quarter panels... Guessing couldn't make a compact box that would hold stability at such high speed...

It will be awesome to see my employees racing at traffic lights, making another one bites the dust in two seconds, definitely safety first it is what Ford is presenting here, I hope that fastest option will be lack, otherwise my cargo van insurance will go up, because of the sustancial amount of street light poles will be smashed by my employees 👏👏🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ What business owners will be buying EV cargo van, with that hazardous mode and insane acceleration 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Sorry but it isn't a van, it's a race truck but not a van because it doesn't have the interior space. That's been cut out for aerodynamics, which is the real challenge, getting performance with a box body. If you don't have a high interior capacity box design then it isn't a van and you've cheated on the main task. So what's the point? Waste of time and money.
