My wife-to-be bought a '93 just like this one, brand new, same color combo, 5.0 with a 5 speed, in October of 1992. She graduated from college in '91, got hired for her first big job in her chosen career, and was ready to celebrate by replacing her really basic college econobox with something nicer. Me being a car guy, she wanted me to help her look, but I was determined to not influence her into buying what I wanted instead of what she wanted. Based on what she told me I recommended that she look at several makes and models, a V8 Mustang being one of them. The Mustang ended up being about the fifth car we went to look at over the next couple of weeks. When we pulled into the Ford lot, a new '93 5.0 LX just like the one in the video was sitting in the show-off spot just outside the showroom doors. That ruby red color ("Electric Red") just gleamed. I resisted saying anything about it but it caught her eye, too. I think it stickered for about $16k. We test drove it, and she told the sales person she wanted to think about it while I played it as cool as I could. A few days later she told me she didn't know what to do about the new car project. I asked her what she thought of everything she had seen so far, and she said "I really liked that Mustang but I know you didn't." I asked her why she thought that, and she said because I never said anything about it. I said that was because I was trying not to influence her, that she needed to pick a car for herself, not for me. She asked me what I thought of it, and I said "Well, now that you asked, if it was for me I would have bought it on the spot that evening." She said that was how she felt about it, too. I said, ok then, let's go get it, if it's still there. It was, and we did. We got married the next year. Over the years, through the birth of our sons and having to add more "practical" vehicles to our garage (read: mini van) , she kept that Mustang for about ten years, even though for the last few she rarely drove it. She finally sold it to her brother, who kept it for another 10-ish years before selling it to buy something else (a pickup?). A few years later lost her to cancer in only her 40s. For so many reasons, I now really wish we had kept her Mustang. I think if I saw a super clean one like this for sale I'd have a hard time not buying it.

I am know I am reading a moment in time that went from highs to low’s I am sure you’ve never forgotten those days, I am sorry for your loss, as the other dude commented a few years ago I hope you were able to get that Ruby Red GT Manual . My brother had a 93 lx 5.0 Metallic Grey manual that we drove together in the mid 90’s to the Grand Prix in Montreal and we had some fun in that bad boy. Now I am looking at one tomorrow and if’s it’s all good I’ll snag it. The 90’s were definitely some of the last best years especially for a teenager. 👊🏼

I know this video is a few yrs old but these FoxBody Stangs are legendary to so many of us that spent our teenage yrs with one or admiring one in my case my brothers. I personally bought my first V8 an 89 Trans Am GTA not too long after moving into my first apartment and working the door a popular night club. Now I see these cars and I want to grab one , even though I could get a new one with a coyote V8 completely digital, I like the old school analog , basic , rawness of the Foxbody 5.0 especially a notchback and damn it to get a one in good shape they’re increasing in value. That said , I think I am going to go look at one for sale in my hood and if it’s right I’ll snag it up. What a beautiful little beast that thing is. We definitely took these real cars for granted. I should have grabbed a few of them many yrs ago and kept them in pristine condition. They just don’t make em like this no more ! Appreciate the video clip !

I had a 93 LX exactly like yours. Same color. Keep it Stock, mine was Trick Flow'de out, 24 lb inj., King Cobra clutch, Hurst short throw, etc. Wish I could have kept it but I'm pretty happy now with my 2006 GT 4.6L, ALL STOCK! Clean ride my friend!

Thanks for keeping it mostly original. I hope the new owner does the same. Anyone who knows cars KNOWS what this car is in that era. A great color code and 5-speed on top of all that. With the hood up, the front lights/grille remind me of the Mustang SVO's.

I had a 93 lx just like that one except mine was white. I went to the dealership and test drove a black one real hard after the test drive I looked at the salesman and said I'll take the white one. I loved that car.

Wild Strawberry metallic, on a black sport interior, coupe 5.0 5 speed. sick car. I almost owned a hatch in the same combo, but I had just wrecked my second 5.0 at age 20, 1st one was a year earlier. And backed out in favor of something tame like my Nikes for 2 years then I picked up a sick 1980 T-bird with a 4.2 se bored 302. shit heap. I wrecked that also. Now own a 400 rwhp 347 stroker 1991 5 speed coupe in Twighlight blue that I lovingly drive like I stole. I have owned it since 2017. Swapped 5 clutches, had trans rebuilt, motor out when swapped to 347 all by me and a buddy. The car is like a therapist. I get in, turn the key and "drop out"....lol. like a time portal. Fully mechanical car. no abs, no efi, , no elec fuel pump. still power assist steering and brakes though, and a nice 500 watt amp and a JL 10W6 for the red lights and traffic lights!!
