Ford removed a ton of great features. No fuel level anymore, range is not a substitute. No more Pro Power settings, trailer light check is also missing. Service records only show history now, you can no longer make your own entries for self-service. They also buried TPMS and Oil Life under the Service, Vehicle Health section. I give this "update" 2 stars. It looks pretty, but the loss of functionality kills it.

Really dislike the owner can't add their own service record in the new update, like we can in the previous version. For example, if I change my own oil. That feature is enough for me to keep the old version.

This update is terrible. Ford just keeps getting worst and worst. I can no longer see basic features such as remaining oil life, tire pressure monitoring, or fuel level and range. The previous version was great and now they took major steps backwards. You should be able to add your own service history too because I prefer changing my own oil and transmission fluid because I know I will do it better than the dealer will. From starting to do my own oil changes right away I noticed they had removed the 2 side bolts for the engine cover and never replaced those. This is exactly the type of sub par stuff that happens at dealerships while they charge you premium hourly service rates.

Great App for Kids. Would really like to have the version for grown ups back. New version is embarrassingly dumbed down. Where did the ProPower Onboard info go, for example?

Glad that the lock/unlock feature is now a tap and no longer press and hold (where you can't see what's happening because you ended up covering up the button as you held it). I never really explored the app very much before seeing the video. From the comments, it sounds like there were some useful features/info that have now been removed.

Wow! Talk about a step backwards! Update removes feature I had with my F150 Powerboost like Zone lighting, Propower, etc. How is this an upgrade! Disappointed and hoping Farley is not going to bring Toyotas model… start charging subscription $$ for adding these. Ford is dipping toe with BlueCruise and Nav subscriptions.

For Android users, this update also enabled Dark Mode. There does not seem to be a toggle in the app itself, but it will follow the theme (light/dark) set for the rest of your phone.

My location does not work. I was told that it is not part of the initial rollout and that I need to wait for it to work. I don't get it! Why put something out when it doesn't work? But I see it works for you??

The new 5.0 version sucks. Left out key features and has less capability. No warranty info, no ability to add service records, no ability to refresh the "vehicle health" page in the morning to get a cold tire pressure reading. A new version should expand on the current features and capabilities, not eliminate them. What a huge disappointment.

The main thing I used was vehicle location. With the previous version, the location was shown in real time. Now it will show where the vehicle was last parked.

This was helpful. Thank you. Can you tell me why, in my Fordpass app service record, it doesn’t actually say the name of the recall update? ( like 24s24 etc). It’s frustrating because I’d like to research the updates that has been done and I can’t find the actual snail mail Ford sent me so I’m not sure what has been done. The app only says “other” for recall also for oil change it only says “scheduled maintenance”. I wish it was more specific and said “oil change”. Thanks

It is garbage. Literally. You should also be able to add your own service if you do you own oil changes. I buy oil from the Ford dealer but change it myself so I should be able to record that. Ford just keeps getting worst.

My son's Chevy Trax tells his phone many different things about his vehicle...Ford Pass barely scratches the surface. I wish Ford Pass would do so much more. I do wish one could select the location section and enable a mode to make a notification sound when the vehicle moves. My wife wouldn't have to call me and tell me she's on her way home from work. Two-factor authentication for this app might be something to consider.

On location, you apparently can’t locate the vehicle if it’s moving. While watching this, I tried to locate my wife coming back from our ranch. It still located here at the ranch while Apple Find Me has her about 25 minutes away

I’m thinking this roll back of app features is to fix the battery going into deep sleep mode so quickly. So many things removed it makes no sense unless it’s a battery 🪫 issue.

I don’t like the update for the following reason: I purchased a d 2021 MaxhE in May 2022 and I bought the ford wall mounted charging station. I traded my machE in Dec 2022. With this update I can not access the wall charger through the app since I do not have a ford EV… with the prior app version I was able to access the charging station through the app. Spend all of Friday afternoon talking to Ford BEV and app team only for them to say they never thought about something like this happening. They said I could buy another Ford EV or go by a new EV charging station and there is no planned work around for me EV owners that have a wired ford wall charging station.

Why did Ford remove the Powerboost pro power display? I shouldn't have to go to the truck screen when I want to know how much power (watts) I am pulling from the onboard generator, especially in a thunderstorm. This version is missing many features that were in the previous version.

New app is broken for my 2018 Escape, only features that work are locking and unlocking of doors. No longer able to use remote start, no longer seeing tire pressure and oil life and not able to add new Service History information. Totally useless for me right now on my iPhone, still working fine on my iPad as i haven't yet updated the app on that device.

Same with me. Absolutely useless app for my 2019 escape. Wish apple would allow the ability to goto the previous versions of apps. Hopefully ford sees how this update is trash and sends out a fix sooner than later.

The updated app on iPhone won't allow me to start my F150 using my Apple Watch, says "Vehicle connectivity disabled" and I can't figure out how to fix this. I wish users could revert back to the old app which always worked fine.

I think you need to check connectivity on the Touchscreen in the vehicle. My Bronco is doing this too.

Update is completely messed up. Can't start my car in advance the it used too. All I have is a slide to turn vehicle off bar but nothing bto start to get AC running. Big time upset over this.

On the old app, I could remotely charge and stop charging on my 2022 transit. Now this feature seems to be missing, which makes the app totally useless for me. I could also set the charge level remotely with the app before. Not now, This is very inconvenient for my business.

They removed my ability to do my own service records. Just a scam to get you to go to the dealer for service or void your warranty if you do your own service. Honestly thinking about selling my F250 because of it. Kind of like the Cummins anyway. Stuff like this aggravates the heck out me and I cant let it go.

We can’t control the climate for remote start now? I can’t turn on defrost or change the temp now. Pointless to have remote start if I have to change the setting from the car each time.

The app has never had the ability to control the actual temperature. It allows you the ability to turn it on. When your vehicle is in the auto setting in your remote start climate control it will turn on the defrost, seats (if equipped), steering wheel (if equipped). In the last setting, it will turn it on to the last setting for warmer times of the year to turn a/c on. It works great but people do need to remember to switch that setting on their vehicle every spring and fall.

It was under the vehicle tab in features and settings. Push and hold and it would cycle through all the lights so you could check the trailer. I don’t see that option with the update anywhere.

You can still do it from screen inside. Set up your trailer and the light check feature is in the options. However it was a lot more convenient with the app.

@Whitefirefox1 You have never been able to turn the climate control on our off with the app. Remote starting the vehicle, turns the Climate on. In your vehicle settings is where you determine if it's heat or last seeing.

Its even worse than I thought. Went on a trip and after stopping to charge the app just disconnected the Bluetooth and would Not connect again. So the app was totally useless and it also stop the car from recognising the location. So nav system was useless and mapping was blank. This is a GARBAGE APP! >>>>>Can I get the old version back?

The New Ford Pass app update - If you have successfully updated the snyc on your Ford and no longer have the app connecting. If the activation steps do not work as mine did not after running the new app update - DO NOT go to the service department. There is one more troubleshooting to do If you have the option to schedule a turn on engine. Set the schedule for the day you have the app open 10 minutes ahead (it won’t do less than 5 min) If like mine, the scheduled time starts the car it will pair the updated app with full functionality. I called Ford Pass and requested they add this to the troubleshooting since it is the one thing they did not do with me. I almost brought it into Ford to be charged $125 diagnostic for them to look at this issue and who knows what they would have charged if I hadn't asked them questions and realized what needed to be done. Again, if you have an option to schedule do so and it will pair all the other features.

It is on there. Press the 3 cars in the very upper right hand corner of the app. When you see the vehicle you want to see the vin, press the Vehicle Details button right below Select Vehicle. You will see the vin on the third row below Vehicle Nickname and License Plate.

Just call it “Ford Remote Start”. All the other useful features are gone.
