Found myself with another Fordson wreck that came from far west NSW. Let's see if we can get it running!

Not to bad at all. I wonder about the condition of the governor diaphragm. I am in my mid 50s and remember rough and wrecked Fordsons exactly like this when I was a boy. I agree, never say never with a Fordson always enjoy your videos.

Nice project, she's the old mark 1 engine with the decompresessor lever. Have 2majors myself, power major and 6cylinder 590E engine super major. Try filling the back axle with diesel and leave it in for a week might free it out. Liam kilkee clare ireland 🍀 🚜 🚙

That's exactly the plan Liam, diesel has worked wonders for me so far.

hey mate , another great vid . your videos have helped me immensely with the rebuild of my fordson. i do notice in this video the decompression lever is in the up position just wondering if you could do a video on the lever side of things and how it works.

Thanks for the feedback! Happy to cover the decompression lever in a future video.

Interesting video, as always! How are you going to go about the seized gears? Buckets of vinegar and a bit of salt maybe, Evaporust if it's affordable? I've been taking my first steps towards tractor maintenance laterly, starting from a Power Major injection pump we had lying around in the shed. I noticed you don't have videos on these pumps. Do you take requests? 😁 Greetings from Finland! 🇫🇮

With the gears I have poured in some diesel and I am going to let it sit and soak. I have had good success with diesel on other stuck items so here's hoping!

Well you have scored another treasure, she might be a bit rough but tonnes of parts to be had, used or traded with other's. Just 1 question, are the rear rims extended to a wider position the standard, they just appear to be set wider, it may be just how it looks on film but, thought I'd ask the question, good luck and look forward to more video's. cheers.

Hi Andy, good spot. The rims have been changed, the rim centre has been flipped which makes it deeper on the external side and slightly widens the wheelbase.

@@fixingfordsonsaustralia6632 thanks mate, yes it was the deep dish of the rims at 0:40 that caught my eye but also having flat tyres made it a bit hard to guess. It would be interesting if you could do a segment on the adjustment's for the rear rims. The video of the same for the front was quite informative. Do the steel rims have a number of different setting width's ? Also cast rims on the front, often both front & rear are the same, that is either both cast or both steel. cheers, enjoying viewing what you're doing.

I dont think that's oil out the exhaust that's diesel out the exhaust. Seems like its only firing on one or two cylinders. Double check the valve lash and maybe try pulling injectors and filling cylinders with a 50/50 mixture of atf and acetone
@fixingfordsonsaustralia66322 жыл бұрын
I'm starting to agree, my oil level hasn't moved for the last few days and my No. 4 is definitely in trouble. Time for the head to come off again and check my injectors.

@@fixingfordsonsaustralia6632 could be sticky cylinder rings that's why I suggest soaking the cylinder in 50/50 mix of acetone and atf
