I run the Hackney Half and loved it. Not a particular fast route but it has to be one of my favourite races. Great atmosphere and running through East London was amazing.

I'm wondering if Si would give my local 'Half' (Potters 'Arf) a better score than Cambridge!?? I think he would definitely complain about hills, but at least we haven't got any dual carriageway! He should come up next year, as I expect 3 weeks (11 June) is too soon?? 🤔

I agree with Speedgoat’s 7 and his comments re the ups & downs and the constant turns. I would do Cambridge 9 times out of 10 rather than do Hackney again!

I don't rate the course but the atmosphere is great- this was my 3rd year in a row. I think there were too many runners- nearly 20,000 this year - and its so crowded you can't get going in the first 2 miles for those wanting a time. Water stations were better this year and at least it wasn't as dangerously hot as last year but if i wasn't running it for charity i would give this a miss as it also doesn't count as an official half anymore.

Not quite sure how you can hammer races like Cambridge but give this a 9. It makes us the viewer question did you get a free place to run this ? Maybe you didn’t at Cambridge? I used to really enjoy this channel and the community togetherness it had. It just seems really clique these days and all about the benefits. Good luck to you do what you need to do it’s your channel but I used to really like your work before.

firstly I paid for my place for hackney. second i didnt hammer cambridge one of my friends didnt rate it which he is fully entitled to do like you are. thirdly its not cliquey and yes there are some benefits that i am very fortunate to get but i always disclose them and i would say are pretty transparent about. personally i would always try and work on facts and not hearsay and then form an opinion

As my hometown it’s a beautiful place and a beautiful run but that’s my opinion, my opinion also being as stated above as a viewer that’s what I’m entitled to do and that’s how this platform works. Again, no mention of the bananas. If you are going to score running events the quality of the bananas should be taken into consideration. Looked fun. I'd give the video 8. Could have been 9 with a proper appreciation of the post-race fruit.
