4:14 it is a=thita-180 right cuz thita is greater than 180 in that condition

Back Bearing: Turn your body half a turn until the white south arrow on the compass is in the red north house. Read off the BA you get. When you are tired in the forest, you should simplify things.

sir , thita =180+alpha alpha=thita-180 .but write 180-thita

I don't think so. The equation of the admin is mathematically correct . I also think that there's no need to subtract alpha from 360. If we consider alpha=180- theta, the value will come out in negative which would imply that alpha is to be measured counter clockwise.

Is the back bearing the same as azimuth?
@CIVILSolved2 ай бұрын
Please clarify your question? Do you mean back bearing is same as of fore bearing ?
@dadaaan14872 ай бұрын
@@CIVILSolved nope, I really meant azimuth. Azimuth is the clockwise angle measurement from North between 0° to 360° which is quite similar to the back bearing. So I was just asking if the two, azimuth and back bearing, are the same.
@CIVILSolved2 ай бұрын
@@dadaaan1487 both fore bearing and back bearing are azimuths of line. However it is matter of point from where you are observing the azimuth. Lets say for AB line, if you are measuring bearing from point A towards B then it will be fore bearing and if you are measuring azimuth at B towards A then it will be back bearing.

If you have an Analogue watch look at it. If it's 8 o'clock, what's on the other side? answer: 2 o'clock. 2 o'clock is then BA. One hour is 30 degrees. So BA is 60 degrees.
