Foreign Military Base: Activists Oppose United States, France Bases In Nigeria

Concerns and criticisms are mounting over the potential consequences of having foreign military bases on Nigerian soil. Northern activists and the New Nigeria People's Party Party, NNPP, have cautioned the Federal Government against allowing the United States and France to have foreign military bases in Nigeria. According to them, the pact will enable America and France to redeploy their soldiers expelled from Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger Republic to Nigeria. Their major concern is about sovereignty, security, and geopolitical influence.

I possessed high security clearance, and I was exposed to certain things that those without the type of clearance I had don't see. I am well intuitive to reasons why we, America looks outwardly when locating military bases around the world! I spent most of my time in Indopacific and the gulf, I was in Australia for few years, Japan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Guam, Germany, Bahrain, Dubai and Qantas. My 24 years of service spanned the globe. In short, Nigeria is not at war with any country worldwide, to includes our neighboring countries. Therefore, Nigeria has nothing to gain partnering with any foreign countries militarily, particularly French and the U.S but has everything to lose!

I was enjoying this program until I had that man saying about USA and Britain refusing to give arms to Nigeria for the Civil War. Interesting. The man in blue with a white cap should stop childish ranting, talking about ammunition to kill his fellow black Nigeria brother. So because they refused you arm to kill igbos, you hated them. Let US and France militaries get back home first after their expulsion from Mali and Bukina Faso, then, if Nigeria needs any of their political, economic or diplomatic relationships, Nigeria will determine her area of needs which of course, I suppose must not be military oriented for Nigeria to begin to think of US or French military bases in Nigeria.

I get that we don't need foreign base in Nigeria but what is the Nigeria Army doing about terrorism? They have tribalized the military so much its basically non-functional. How bad can it get? Are they afraid that that someone will be overlooking their moves?
