There's so many scholars in La Salle from different social classes though, but I get your point...
@arembotate41005 жыл бұрын
More than 30 years ago, it was the aim of the Alumni Association and the La Salle administration to have 20% of its students as deserving scholars. I do not know if that has been attained. If you think you qualify, you are most welcome to apply. There are also many athlete students who are recruited who are scholars.
@karinvasu30055 жыл бұрын
@@arembotate4100 The scholars are determined by your results in the entrance exams or your standing in your whole batch in the school(?) (Top 5%) And Athletes are also scholars...
@arembotate41005 жыл бұрын
Yes, high school grades and results of your entrance exam. Not necessarily top 5% in entrance exam. As long as you are an honor student, good entrance exam result and you qualify to the course you are applying. I know because my brother got scholarship. He was not top 5% but he was an honor student in high school. It also helped that they asked for the Income tax return of my parents. So my brother got scholarship tuition and fees.

Fun fact: My art teacher while I was studying in DLSU told us that the Henry Sy Library building's architecture was inspired by trees where people can find shade and lay down under it, hence the pillars. For few years since it was built, students can actually lay down by the pillars, just like being under a tree but recently the rules have changed and they put benches around the pillars.

The only thing that I could remember was that one artillery shell hit one of the communion rails as it was out of alignment. About the Japanese massacre at the La Salle chapel during the battle for Manila, one American Christian Brother, a Brother Alfonse, survived. I was in Grade 4 when Brother Alfonse made a sentimental journey to the campus where he was almost killed. He actually received 2 bayonet stab wounds from a Japanese soldier.

You might wanna be a Lasallian too! 😉 The Animo spirit is just crazy nice. I bet you’ll like the La sallian community. 💚

Please visit my school Adamson University. The only university that has a bridge inside the campus. The biggest chemistry laboratory in Asia and probably the longest walkway as well. Adamson's buildings have rich history. It is just near DLSU :)

All buildings are supported by pillars/posts and beams, they just did not put walls at the ground floor of that building plus it has a high ceiling...

Civilians died in the chapel too, families actually and children, killed by the japanese soldiers. Many ghost stories about that place. Nice that you visited our school tho, used to hang out at the SJ walk before.

I'm an alumnae of DLSU (CATCH '94, computer sci). I used to go to the main chapel every day to pray and I was always in the main library. The main entrance used to be so small so I'm glad it's bigger now. I'm surprised you got in bec. they were strict with visitors. I enjoyed watching your video.
