The first time I traveled to Cebu PI it was New Year’s Eve 2009…. Huge party it was amazing….. unknowing to me Red Horse is some serious shit…… long story short me and my friend who was married to the host families daughter ended up in a card game with the priest drinking Red Horse….. that night the priest took all our money in the poker game, my friend woke up in the bathtub and I swore never to drink again 😂

it must be said that the culture differs greatly depending on which part of the philippines you're in, where i live sharing mugs is not common practice (especially after c0v!d), but in the provinces its quite common, its not insulting if foreigners dont follow tradition but it is insulting if they dont follow it when they're the groom/bride of a wedding, and like most countries these traditions are laced with countless hidden hazing customs, like swallowing the beating heart of a python (in vietnam they use cobra's, indonesia also uses pythons), or eating balut (hardboiled duck fetus), none of this is necessary at all and you absolutely dont need to eat it, but they will goad you into doing it just for the fun of it and to get the party going xD

When in a drinking session that has a karaoke, theres a tabboo (joke) that no one should sing "My Way" ( I Did it my way ) song, for fear taht someone would get stabbed in the drinking session, It actually happened and made news in the Philippines, 2 mates were drunk and one was going to sing the song and the otehr thought that it was their turn and it got ugly, Karaoke has a system were you input songs that go in a queue, so they might hae thought it was their turn
