one of the reasons it's so "addictive" is because it covers all three things our bodies instinctively crave. salt, sweet and fat. our brains just go YES, MORE! 😂😂

Smash! is a chocolate snack from Nidar's chocolate factory in Trondheim. The product consists of salty, deep-fried corn kernels covered in Norwegian milk chocolate. Smash was launched in 1988, but it wasn't until the mid-2000s that sales took off. In 2006, Smash was Norway's third best-selling chocolate.

Nidar is the company behind Smash. Their "motto" for the Smash brand is "Det skal godt gjøres å spise bare en", which basically translates to "Good luck eating JUST one!". They're addictive and delicious AF!

Not sure if you've seen the good old Norwegian Smash commercials or not, but they're usually easier to understand once you've given it a try 😂🙈

We also have a kind without chocolate. It`s called sombreros and has a cheesy taste. Also if you like tortilla chips, you should try Maarud Tortilla Cheese. It wipes the floor with doritos.^^,
@NaztashАй бұрын
Yes, they're corn based bugels covered in chocolate. So you get salt, starch and sweet/chocolate. Which is a combination that is hard to resist.

Comparing Kit Kat and Kvikk Lunsj is seen as a horrendous crime in Norway! And saying that Kit Kat is better is even worse! Kvikk Lunsj is like a FAAAAR higher quality and much tastier version of Kit Kat. Much higher quality chocolate, and the wafers are much crisper and snappier! The wafers in Kit Kat feel a bit soggy in comparison to me, and the chocolate is very clearly of low quality!
@mar97216Ай бұрын
Bought a kitkat on holiday in england as a kid. Couldn’t finish it, and it was candy.. as a kid😅. Never had it since, it just tastes lile cardboard and calendar chocolate.

Is also sold in Sweden but then under the OLW brand (who does crisps and cheese doodles) which was a Swedish brand until it was sold to Norwegian food conglomerate Orkla (who owns Nidar who invented Smash).

Smash was launched in 1988, but it wasn't until the mid-2000s that sales took off. In 2006, Smash was Norway's third best-selling chocolate. Yes, I believe we still have bugles in Norway, but most of us buy the ones covered with chocolate.

Well the Norwegian version.. some off brand stuff maybe and sombreros. But they are sort of cheesy spice flavored

Corn cones/chips are common in a lot of places all around the world, but I suppose the American Bugles are what you're talking about. Smash is indeed just slightly salty corn chips, covered in delicious milk chocolate from Nidar, a Trondheim-based company that started in 1912. This was also the same factory that made Smash in the 1980's. Nidar as a whole make various kinds of both chocolate and other candy.

Did you also come to a conclusion about the tap water. As many said the trick is to run it until it feels cold on your hand. That way you will not get stagnant water trapped in the pipes
@NordicReactionsАй бұрын
I tried it 3 times and it still had the after taste, even when the receptionist gave me a cup, he let it run a while. The taste was less, though. Those videos will be out soon
@afre3398Ай бұрын
@@NordicReactions That was strange but well if you did not like it. It is perfectly OK. People tend to prefer what they are somewhat used to. I live in Oslo and I almost never buy water

I guess, but in this case, it actually had an aftertaste of chlorine. Some people also said that in the news they advised boiling the water in Oslo

Smash is amazingly good! But the chocolate? Well, in my opinion it’s the worst Norwegian chocolate. Tastes sort of American. Freia is the best Norwegian chocolate. Smash is addictively good though

Norway don't make their own Bugles outside of the Smash, but we can get importet Lay's... If you want to taste only the chocolate, I think the closest would be Stratos Melkesjokolade from the same company making Smash (Nidar).
