I remember 2 European friends who were here to do volunteering work in Philippines for 3 months, and the area they were volunterring dont have McDo but i has Jollibee. At the time construction for McDo is ongoing and they said to me I swear Emmy, not going to Jollibee ever the moment McDonalds is open. The big day came, McDonalds was open of course they were there. And after a few weeks, i asked them, im going to eat u guys want to come? At the back of my mind, McDonalds is where were heading, so i asked them, were going to McDonalds? The both of them said, oh no, JOLLIBEE!!!

@cody, it's not about making us feel depressed. it's about showing true stories that touch our hearts whether it be sweet, encouraging, nostalgic, etc. it's about the "emotional connection" that jollibee is after. that jollibee is part of our families, part of our lives. because for filipinos, family is of utmost importance.

I am sobbing at the last one, even though I have seen it and knew how sad it was. My husband is Filipino and he is 32 years older, I know that one day I will have to be without him and this reminds me of that. We have a 3 month old daughter together. He is an amazing Tatay to her and I love him so much, I can’t stand thinking that I will outlive him. I am praying God might let us be together as long as possible, hoping he’ll at least make it to 100. But I am grateful every day I’m with him. Our daughter looks so much like him, she’s our miracle blessing. This was a cute video, keep up the good work, We Wander ! Cheers from Vegas🖤

Jollibee resembles a place for Filipino families to gather and bond. Filipinos love gatherings whether it's patronal fiesta, family reunion, birthdays, graduation, wedding, Christmas, holy week, new year even funeral. It's always gonna be about family and friends. The business I believe aims to provide a place for a family to bond outside their home, a place where they can celebrate almost every event of their life. Some made it a "PANATA" aka promise to celebrate their bday in Jollibee. A lot of love stories started with just being in Jollibee, childhood memories. Even when a very old building where Jollibee that was built since 1980's that needs to be demolished held a very special place for Filipinos. We would always reminisce those beautiful memories of the place wishing we could keep it. Some may not understand why and how could Filipinos give such sentiments when it's just a fast food chain. Well, it all goes down to Family and Friends. Jollibee has and always have been the place that gathers family and friends to make happy memories. Well at least for me though I grew up with Macdonald's cause the happy meal toys were collectibles. I came to love and appreciate Jollibee and what it stands for. How the company helps those students to graduate by hiring them as working students. I've had a couple of classmates who were supervisors and they're studying as well, some were service crews. People in other countries might hate working on fast food chains, here at least in my city. Those who work in Jollibee and studies are appreciated. 😊

We call Jollibee as Jollibee. "Jobee" is just how very little kids say it. Even the smallest kids love Jollibee. Their commercials aren't all sad. They just focus on family. And because of social media. they are now using ads that touch the hearts for better recall. It works like a charm! Honestly, over the years, McDo in the PH has learned to follow suit to catch up here. "Kwento" - story. "Kwentong" - _________ story. Kwentong Jollibee - Jollibee story. You didn't see the last of the trilogy, CRUSH. The three were based on real stories. Of course, they made it more dramatic for impact. I suggest that you watch these if you haven't yet: PERFECT PAIRS, PARANGAL (TRIBUTE), CRUSH then REUNION.

@romelsual41245 жыл бұрын
The Jollibee commercials are like that because they have been ingrained in the Filipino culture. They have became a part from the daily lives of Filipinos to events (from charities, holidays) to noon shows contests . Generations have grown up with them. For example, Valentines... those who are not a big salary earner, Filipinos dont go to fancy restaurants. But still celebrate that event in a simple way. Jollibee plain and simple.
@bladexsaber5 жыл бұрын
Is not like a regular commercial. Its like a short story commercial tribute for mother day, fathers day, valentines day, even Christmas etc. they only show that in that type of celebration. Like every celebration has a story. thats way they look like that.
@francesalexandraramos5755 жыл бұрын
Actually, the original concept of these commercials was to make the audience sad so they can feed you chicken JOY! -But also, people actually do have really sad stories which involve Jollibee because it's been around long enough to actually merge themselves in other people's lives. Did you hear the one about a dorm student who has the most hectic schedule and the only fast food near her which was open 24/7 was Jollibee. So she gets off from her shift and the only place to eat is Jollibee, and she did that for 4 years plus med school. So during her graduation photoshoot, she brought a bucket of Chicken joy for her Creative shot. :) -Real story from my batch. There's also this teacher from a private school who invited street children to eat at Jollibee, his treat for his birthday for 5 years. That only stopped when his mom got sick and they had to use their money on her medical fees. -Also a real story from a teacher in my old school. --- There's a lot more of that in the Phils.

Kwentong is a phrase in English, kwento is the root word which means "story". add the letters "ng" to the end of the word kwento it would mean " a story of" or "a story by". To make it plural, you add the word "mga" as in "mga kwentong Jollibee". Which means: Stories by Jollibee or Jollibee stories. Watch the Jollibee commercial titled "Choice", you'll never guess what the twist is. One clue is in the lyrics of the theme song.
